Local peaches have been in for around a month. Bought some from a road side stand. Expensive, but good. We just ate them plain. No waste.

Lane peaches are from Fort Valley, Georgia. We do a road trip to their farm for peaches. It's a very neat place, in that, you are taken in a tourist van to the orchards, then come back to the plant and watch the process in their small factory, that the peaches go through, from the harvesting to the box to be shipped. They have a wonderful restaurant for lunch and all kinds of peach desserts. Plus, a store where more peach products are sold. It's quite the place.

Georgysmom, if you're used to other jezebel recipes, this one is different in that it gets its heat from the hot pepper jelly rather than horseradish. It's so good with the warm brie.

Old Fixer, your yankee tastebuds just might be too soft for a firey southern jezebel sauce! Just kidding, this flavor combination is really delicious. Try it on hot ham biscuits.

This is the original farmer's market where all the farmers come from Cullman and south from Clanton, to sell from the back of their trucks.

Cars line up at the trucks, and you make your purchase from your car.

You just drive around, ask for the prices, then after you have made your pick, go back for your purchase.

Now with so many scattered neighborhood Saturday, only, farmstands, there's not st many that venture down to the original farmers market.

They still have their year round farmer's market, where they pay for their space, thus up their prices.

We had great buys from the trucks today, but not near the selection from years ago. Still worth going.

This is the Jezebel spread that is so popular which I have made numerous times.

HOT JEZEBEL

1 c. apricot preserves
1 c. pineapple preserves
1/4 c. horseradish, drained
3 tbsp. dry mustard
1 tsp. pepper
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese Plenty for two pkg cream cheese

Mix preserves, horseradish, mustard, and pepper. Store in a covered jar in the refrigerator. To serve, place 1/3 cup of hot jezebel on a block cream cheese. May be prepared ahead. Serve with good crackers.

Those are beautiful, Moni! I stopped at a big fruit stand when I was on the road yesterday and bought peaches, strawberries, plums and watermelon.

Glenda, I make Jezebel Sauce, too, but I think the recipe is calling for Hot Pepper Jelly.

O.F. You can make your own pepper jelly if you want (recipe makes 5 or 6 jars) but for this recipe, you can just buy a jar.

Went to the farm store and got some peaches and nectarines and a big watermelon right out of the field. We are having a BBQ tonight with the neighbors so that watermelon is desert.

How about a bowl of sliced peaches in milk for breakfast? Sprinkled with a little cinnamon and sugar!

And crispy buttered toast to go with it.

I love a sliced peach over a scoop of Greek yogurt with honey drizzled on top. Maybe some toasted almonds added, too.

Y'all might be surprised at this Yankees hot taste buds. Slice 4 Japalenos in half and stuff them down in a jar of dill pickles. Let it sit in the back of the fridge for 3 months. Perfect spicy snack on the beach with beer. Store bought hot salsa has to be doctored up a bit, too wimpy.

I love just a peach without any brie or hot sauce, just the peach washed & dried. You take one bite and juice starts running down your arms, you practically need a bath when you are done..
