One of life's little mysteries, solved! Many pix.

OK, you know you had that needle, but now it's gone. You'd have sworn you stuck it back into the pincushion. Where the heck is it?

Well, I'll tell you. It's where you thought it was, but it got sucked deep inside the monster where it's breeding its little eyes out!

I was sick of the old tomato and decided to cut it open to see what it was made of and if any needles were inside it. Well. Color me shocked! I had to go get the camera, this was unbelievable.

There were FIFTY FIVE needles stuck inside it, all shapes and sizes. Now I knew there would be a few because first, I read about someone else doing this a few years ago, plus every once in a while I'd see the very tip of the eye peeking out at me and I wasn't always able to grab it and save it from the depths, but 55? This was almost scary!

So if you ever run out of needles and really need one, I know where you might find one. Or ten. Or a lot more! My tomato was probably 15 years old, maybe older. And it served me well, but it's number was up today. lol Number 55, to be exact.

I made myself a couple of new pincushions to replace this one, and I must say, they are way cuter! Here's one of them along with a thread catcher.
