Do you have Yahoo mail?

I use Yahoo for some mail. I thought I had the "new" version. Today when I try to log on I get the message "connection refused." Anyone else having problems?

I don't use Yahoo as my regular email, but do have an acct there. I've been able to get into it today. I hope you can get your problem figured out.

try clearing the cache on your browser and see if that helps any.

Open your yahoo email and click on HELP. There's a subject line that will get you to the following: Terminating your account means you'll lose access to the Yahoo! ID, Yahoo! thanks tumblenweed, it appears i can not do what i want. i saw the categories but frankly these are distribution lists ie more than 1 email address bundled into 1 generic name. so if you want to email 12 different people, grouping them into a distrib list makes it easy to send an email to them as you select just 1 recipient vs selecting all 12 individually. it would make no sense to put my commonly contacted email addresses into a distb list as then i'd be sending email to all them. it sure was nice to be able to put people into groups (folders) and then open that folder and select the address i wanted vs looking thru dozens of email addresses. i am surprised that yahoo hasn't figured this out. the only way around this is to put a prefix in front of email names that will then sort them and group them together. what a dopey way to get this but i may do it. thanks, tom

Last nite was almost the final straw. It was slow loading, as usual and a window popped up to say it was slow and do I want to switch to Basic view to speed it up? I did and when I clicked on my messages the Reply, Delete etc were all gone! So reading the messages was useless. The Options, Help and Sign out buttons weren't clickable either. Good Grief!!! I did read my mail using IE, but that isn't the point. What the heck? I don't like Gmail and don't want Hotmail, so not sure what to do. You guys are lucky, that can still use the old version. Under the Help button here one of the FAQ is if the old version can be kept and the answer is no, we can't use that one anymore. Oh, I cleaned my history, cache and cookies this morning. I do malware, spyware etc etc regularly.

Did you try rebooting your computer? If so, try a different browser.

I've used Yahoo for over 10 years. I used to have to switch accounts every 6 months to a year because of spam but Yahoo was the first I experienced who put in place effective spam filters and they've worked well for me so I stay with them.

Yup,I've cleared the cache and rebooted the computer. Tried getting on thru IE but had no luck. Guess they're just mad at me!

Just tried again on Firefox, which is what I usually do, and Presto! There was my mail!

Thanks for all of the suggestions. sometimes computers have a mind of their own.

Yes but I dislike it. I have groups that use it. So I use it as place to have junk sent until I get to it. I visit it only once every couple months or so to clean it out.

I opened my Yahoo email account the same day that Yahoo went online, and to date I am still using the same email account without any problems

I've used it for a long time and never had a problem with it. In fact, it's the only e-mail I use.

for those using yahoo email some new info you should be aware of.

for many it is acceptable but it definitely should be something you at least know is happening.

Ever since that dimwith tried to grow genitalia our emails have been read. Nothing new and I'm not naive enough to believe a company can or will stop them.
