Adult male posing for me.

I'd never seen youngsters before, this year we have two.

Baby birds flap their wings rapidly and yell, begging to be fed.

And it works!

Canon Digital Rebel XTi.

Joan, as usual, I am drooling over your pictures! For a few years now these beauties have been at my feeder during migration. Thanks for the memories!

Wonderful photos. Last year I had my first Grosbeak at the feeder for one day, he ate his fill and was on his way. This year one arrived on Mother's Day and stayed for 2 days. I was so excited to see him again. Thanks for posting the baby photos.

Congrats on those photos! Claire, I'm thinking the male looks a bit juvenile still...he's got brown spots on his top back. The mature one we had at our feeder didn't have any speckling like that on his black part. The underbelly didn't have any speckling either. Joan, you're photos are amazing!

I have three Rose-breasted Grossbeaks visiting the feeders here, I tried to get photos, but mine are embarrassing next to yours!

I wonder if he is the one that camped out at our house on his way north??? :^)
They are so pretty and very unusual in our neighborhood!

Joan what can I say other than always I truly love your pics.They are really amazing.Thank you for taking time to share with us.I want a camera like yours.You need to do this for nothing else for extra cash because you could sell these. You are so so good and talent.
