Last year I saw one male Rose Breasted GB. This year I saw 3 males and one female. Same with Oriols. Last year one male. This year 3. I think parents bring their offspring back with them. The GBs just pass through and nest further north, but the orioles nest here in NE Ok. My dad had one of the pendulous nests hanging from a tree in his front yard.

This year is the first in about 5 years that I've seen the grosbeaks. I had 5 males on the feeder at one time, with more females scattered about. Here's a picture of a pair that I shot. Of course, the mail had his back to me!

I will never forget the first time I saw a Rose Breasted Grosbeak. They look like they're dressed up in tuxedos They are just stunning. We had quite a few around here last year, but it seems to vary year to year. Hopefully they'll stay around your place this year. The ones here seemed to love the black oil sunflower seeds.

I saw my first last night as well here in southern IL. I had 3 males and a female. I heard an oriole as well and saw the first hummer this past weekend. All are long overdue. Also had some shorebirds (some type of plover???) at the pond.
