All I know is that if the Government didn't take my money, from me and spend it on things they invent, I would spend it on me, and maybe put my neighbor to work. If the problem is all the stuff we buy comes from overseas, then look at the why the Government allows unbalanced trade, and also why any American company would have an advantage to move production overseas. It just seems that no matter what the problem, the government can't fix it, because at some level, they created it. OK, the FBI is knocking at my door, gotta go! lol George

Hey FOAS, Jessie wins. I was making a list (*on the paper table cloth at the Watershed Restaurant) of CF members whom I have met; I think I'm at 33 meetings. Ironically Jessie was my first many years ago! *I mention this because someone in our party thought I was writing on a real cloth.

The whole family involvement connected to bees carried with it the assumption that families were expected to join other families to do things for the good of the community--bees were no less important than barn raisings and lots of fun too. To ignore an invitation or not be invited implied a rejection of community responsibility. Bees were also key to women's intellectual and poticial development. The importance of quilts to bedding and raising money for church needs justified the unsupervised interaction of women, who were expected by their husbands to focus on discussions of quilting projects, child raising, housewifery etc. It is said that Susan B. Anthony gave one of her first suffrage speeches at a quilting Bee. I think most women's husbands in the mid 1800s would not have allowed them to go to meetings or gatherings solely for the purpose of listening to lectures on suffrage.

I'd really love to come. My car isn't that dependable. While it hasn't given me any problems, I'm planning on trading it in, hopefully this fall. So I haven't put new tires on it, and the a/c isn't working. I'd love to see everyone too. I've hinted to Mom about it, and where it is, (she has a nephew in Minneapolis she could visit too)but seems she didn't get the hint. That, and the guy finally gave me a quote on the pad I'm having poured for my trailer. While it's cheaper than what I'd thought it'd be, I better save the extra that I'd use for gas. I was hoping someone in my area would go, and we could split the gas. Take lots of pictures, and post them please. Leslie

This is Nita. Everything is just about ready here. Everyone will be arriving in about half an hour or earlier. Looks like there will be 8 KTer's coming 9 if Cynic makes it. A wonderful time will be had by all. We will post pictures when we can, don't know if it will be during or after but please be patient. Those of you that have been to these things know that time just runs away with you. You are chatting, laughing, chatting and laughing and you don't want to miss a minute of it.

I'd love to be there, as well, but am going to a reunion of former Korea missionaries in NC today.

Have a great time, everyone.

As well as visiting with Carol and Wes, I had a visit with Danielle and Jason, while en route back to Ontario.
