We're in Texas--what is cold water? Yes, our water comes tepid or warm from the tap throughout the summer. We use a lot of ice, and have a cold water dispenser on the refrigerator. Warm from the tap isn't much of an inconvenience except when you want a cold shower (could this account for the spike in Texas pregnancies?).

Here is Kansas it is not cold. First thing in the AM I have a glass or two of ice water and some frozen grapes. When I was in Wyoming and S. Dakota last week didn't need ice at all.

Ours is cold all the time. But I always keep a pitcher in the frig so it's colder yet! but....we live in Michigan!

well after 9 months over 90 degrees yeah LOL it's actually usually warm. in 2004 our power was out for almost a month and unknown to us our natural gas was too. in summer the only thing using the gas is the water heater and since we had no A/C it was well over 115 in the house at night and we never knew the water heater was not heating the shower water lol. we go to chicago soon for a week, i still have my flat up there, and i am looking forward to cooler water. our next house, a few yrs off, will have a chiller for the cold water faucet in the kitchen and a chiller for the spa. ~ liz

Yes, our water comes out warmish in the SUmmer - in TX.

This is Iowa so the water comes out cold even in the summer.

here in ny we have an outdoor wood furnace, so it heats our hotwater and you have to let the cold run for awhile. nice in the winter though. i always have a pitcher in the frige too.

We have a 400+' well, so it's cold. There is a pressure tank in the basement, but the basement stays pretty cool. So, our cold water is cold (I mean, really cold) in the winter and still pretty cold in the summer.

I like to drink water that's been filtered (I own both Pur and Brita pitchers) and refrigerated. I don't drink water straight from the tap. Too warm.

Mine is pretty cool. My moms is not so cool, lives about 10 miles.

My city water source is wells, I think that's why it's colder.

My water is fairly cold. The water I drink goes through a filter and I can get it from a faucet or from the water dispenser in the refrigerator. I have well water.

We're in lower upstate NY with a 100+ foot well that sits over an aquifer. We have a constant pressure pump and our water pressure is always strong and the temperature is always cold. Love it!

I knew from the subject that's what you were going to ask. Ours is not cold either. It's hard to take a cold shower after being outside working or such. Not refreshing. By this time the neighborhood pool is too warm to be refreshing, too.

Here in the northern Michigan UP we get cold water year around.

Never cold enough for me, so we keep water in the frig.

so do we in se mi...not quite as bad as full winter when it almost hurts to put your hands in the cold water...

With a 300 foot well in Minnesota it's always cold.

Hasn't been this summer, but have experienced it, couple summers.

In the winter the tap water is so cold you can't brush your teeth with it until you wait for some hot water to mix with it. I am in the center of Iowa. Tap water is cold in the summer but not cold enough for me to drink.

Ours is cold all of the time. The outside temps rarely affect it. I don't know why not.

Ours is icy cold in the winter and just plain cold in the summer, after you use up what's in the pressure tank. If you do a load of laundry and then run water in the sink, you go numb because that's fresh from down deep. Our well is something like 800' deep.

I hate it in the winter because rinsing after brushing just freezes your teeth and chills you to the bone.

My St. Paul water is from the Mississippi River and fairly tepid. (I don't want to think about where it comes from as the Mississippi is the sluggish Big Muddy up here). The best tap water I ever drank is in Vienna, Austria-cold, clear, excellent, from deep in the Alps.

The cold water was warm tonight as I was rinsing out my turkey and also warm today when I filled my Brita jug. Usually the water is cold.

Ours is ice cold...but then our sweet water is coming from 150 feet underground.

The water for our village comes from deep wells. It is about 50 F in summer and colder in winter.

Over at Milwuakee, they draw their water from Lake Michigan. The inlet is about 1/2 mile off shore and below the surface. That water warms up to 45 to 50 F by September and then begins to cool. Only the top 2 ft of water on Lake Michigan gets warm. If the wind is blows on-shore, we get warm water. If the wind is opposite, the water is cold. It blows the warm water to the other side of the lake and colder water upwells on this side.

Here in the Phoenix area the water is HOT from the tap. We only use bottled water that we can carry with us.

alot have mentioned they have wells which reminded me that in the winter (here in orlando) when we might get frost you should kick on your irrigation especially if it's a well and drench your landscape. the water coming out of wells is soooo warm that it warms the soil and evaporates up as it cools overnight helping protect tender plants. i only drink city water from the tap (w/ filter) but we have an irrigation well down to 40' and in jan/feb the temps run around 65 degrees. ~ liz
