Thank you! I hope the weather is better elsewhere in this vast country, than it is here. Today it is cool and raining. And Mary's husband wanted to go to the beach. Not so far from here so I doubt it was beach weather for them. We have had rain almost every day for what seems like ages. At Sat. night's church service, the youth choir sang as a closing hymn "Rain Down". So we will blame today on them. Hope it warms up for the 4th for y'all. Theresa

Lots of flags around here all year round. We even have a "Canada House" decorated "all Canadian" My flag flies all seasons. The minute gets a hole in it it gets replaced. I look out my bedroom window and see a huge Canadian flag waving in the wind every morning. The flowers in my flower pots are red and white like our Canadian flag. Not just on Canada Day. Just because some people aren't "flag wavers" doesn't diminish how patriotic they are. You just have to cross the border once between Windsor and Detroit to realize that or to travel anywhere outside of the country. My luggage is even decorated with Canadian flag stickers. Travel to Holland and you will get a real good dose of how proud you are to show your Canadian patriotism. I belong to a group on FB, people who grew up in the same small town that I did. They live far and wide across Canada and some live in the US and many times a day something is posted to show how uniquely and proudly Canadian we are. If I participate in a KT swap, I always try to send items that represent Canada because I am patriotic just like those who live in the US are proud to show where they live. Maybe it depends what city you live or what area. We Windsorites are truly patriotic as are most of my friends across Canada. Here is a link that might be useful: Windsor's Canada House

Best wishes to all of you fellow Canadians on this our hundred and fifty second birthday. As I was sitting here doing some brain activity while feeding my body with lunch ... ... it occurred to me that my grandmother (Dad's side) was born in '62 - so she was five when our nation was born! I think grandpa a couple of years older ... and Mom, being a couple of years younger than Dad, her parents of similar vintage: likely all four under 10 in 1867. Thanks to you neighbours for your good wishes on our birthday. olr joyfuelled

happy Canada day from Europe espescially as some dumb individuals south from you would love to change that. Two of my uncles moves to Canada, and the friendly, funny one told me how much good food is around (like Swiss bakers, Italian or German butchers and so on) and once he sent us photographs, picurtes, by snail mail of sea lions which swam around near his house down at the coast line. I always thought that was so awsome
