Yep, 15 days from today we'll be in the air to Ft Lauderdale on the Carnival Freedom. Have the same balcony stateroom I have on this ship twice before. He's excited to go VIP status :o)

GS and I will go para sailing in Key West
River tubing in Jamaica
Stingray City Grand Cayman

Know lady friends and you will have a wonderful time in the mountains. Hopefully the weather will be perfect for ya'll!

Thanks for asking!

georgysmom, where are you going?

Flying or driving?

I wish you both grand old times. And take notes--we'll need a complete rundown when you get back! :-)

Sounds like a great time. I dreamed of doing these things with grand kids but alas, no such luck.

Have safe and happy trips. Always happy to see pics.

I didn't realize you and PJR were going again. Sounds like a super trip!!!

lisa, I'm taking it one year at a time. I'm turning 73 and gs is turning 16, so if next year I'm healthy and he's willing we'll do another. He'll be a senior in high school next year, and might not have time for grandmother then.

Just playing it by ear.

Glenda, I can't wait to hear your thoughts on the Freedom! We'll be on her in October for an 8 day cruise, also leaving from FLL. We've cruised Carnival a lot, but never on the Freedom.
Eileen

eileen, this is my third time on Freedom and with the same stateroom on Lido deck right by the pool entrance. Love it. The perfect spot for me to come and go on Lido deck.

I went first on the Freedom when it was new. Enjoy the Legend as well.

You will like it.

First time was to Panama, Belize and Costa Rica, an 8 day.

I reached VIP status in February.

Glenda -- GS will ALWAYS have time for you. Just from what you've shared with us here, you have build a solid relationship with him, and he'll always know you're his buddy, not just his grandma. I only wish I was older when my grandmother was around so I could've known her better (I was a very late-in-life baby, so even my Mom was older than most of my friends' moms!).

(Order an umbrella drink for me, would ya? Even if it's just lemonade! Would lovvvve to be looking out over cool water...)

Glenda....just finished this same cruise last Saturday, June 30. We were happy that since the weather was too bad on Monday morning to dock in Key West, they added the port of Cozumel and we got there later that day. I must say....one of the nicest things was that we arrived back at our home only 61 minutes from the time they called the numbers on our luggage tags to proceed down the gangway!

redcurls, I saw that the cruise was diverted from Key West.
I bought travel insurance just cause I read that.
Told me if a storm forms, then it's too late to get insurance, so I just wanted to be worry free and get it this time.

We looked at Cozumel as being a BENEFIT...we have been to Key West a few times already. We didn't even feel any roughness onboard...at least I didn't. We were on deck 6, and I imagine your deck 9 would be far more convenient! My teenage grandkids enjoyed the afernoon dance classes in the Victoria and, of course, the arcade. They loved the sting rays as well. Have fun!
