As we say here in Texas, no brag, just fact. The fact is your daughter-in-law IS a hero--quick thinking and compassionate. You must be so very proud (and didn't your son choose a wonderful bride).

I'm so glad your DIL was in the "right spot at the right time" and able to help. I'd be bragging about her too. Give her a big hug for me.

That IS something to brag about. And lucky for the driver that passed out that she just happened to be there - regardless of his/her outcome. I love nurses! They, along with teachers and firefighters - are the best!

It's so appropriate today to honor the true heros and stars in the world. My hat goes off to her. In this world with so much greed and selfishness isn't it refreshing to hear something like this? I sure think so.

And I have to take issue with one thing. You're not bragging. Telling the truth is not bragging, nor is telling the truth bashing. Truth is truth and my "mama" taught me to tell the truth, not cover it up. This is another reminder that we shouldn't be afraid to "get involved"? Everyone can make a difference. It can be something like this or even calling 911 when you see suspicious activity in your neighborhood.

I so hope to hear more reports like this. Maybe it'll encourage all of us to do something for someone else, even if it puts us out a bit. Wouldn't that be a great legacy?

Good for her and such a learning moment for her son. She taught him by example, and in the future if her son ever saw anyone needing help, he would be there. We need more moms' and dads' that children can look up to and not down on. Your DIL certainly is one that can be called a good samartian and hero. Let her know what kind thoughts we have posted as she is an inspiration to others to get involved and not look the other way.

And ... she didn't stop to think that she should be careful ... lest she later be sued for taking action without approval. She deserves our appreciation for that, as well.

What a large number of us seem to be so prone to suing over nothing, in recent years.

Most states have "Good Samaritan" laws that can help protect people from being sued if they're doing a good deed in a responsible fashion, ie- not drunk or ignoring the doctor next to him/her.

Your DIL did a great thing, Vickie and I hope you tell her we all thought so! I hope the man survived and I hope you're able to find out.
