Have you tried the Endless Summer variety of Blue Hydrangea?

Ron, no, but I do have the Blushing Bride, and it blooms on old and new wood. I do have one called 'All Summer Beauty' or something like that, but it only blooms on old wood (I'm thinking). I covered it last winter and this year it has 7 or 8 blossoms on it. I posted it in yesterdays Show Me thread. I think it's tag is buried under the mulch right now, or I'd go look.

Ron, I purchased 4 of the Endless Summer hydrangeas a couple of months ago. Since we had to cut all 14 trees down in our back yard I have such a small amount of shade. I thought there would be enough on the side of the shed for them, but after a few days I could tell there was too much full sun there and they weren't doing well at all. I gave them to a friend who will take care of them.

Endless Summer Hydrangea was devloped by Baileys Nursery here in Minn. just outside of St. Paul. It's suppose to be hardy but mine freezes back to within 6 or 8 inches of the ground every winter. But, each year it seems to grow back more than ever. These were taken just a few days ago.

Ron, I have a three-year-old Endless Summer. It has one (1) bloom on it. How can I improve this situation? Yours is beautiful!

Hi Jane - Finding out the exact age of my house has been on my To Do list for some time. (It's a slow-moving list.) I was told it's a Civil War house, and a knowledgeable antique dealer estimated 1850 or earlier. I should be able to find out. Here's another view of it. Two sections were added on to the back after it was built.

All hydrangeas like an acid soil. I fertilize it at least once a month in the Spring and early Summer with Miracid fertilizer or a generic equivalent. This one is planted on the east side of Bigbaby's studio and has been there for 3 or 4 years now. This is the best it's ever looked.
