Help for itchy c-section scar

Well since I am only five months pregnant and get asked daily if I am due any day now my belly is really getting big. The worst thing is that my c-section scar is really getting red and itchy. I can feel it pulling as my belly gets bigger. I had 2 other c-sections but only had 5 months off between pregnancies so not much time to heal.

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas about what to do about the c-section scar. It is soooo itchy and pulling on the other skin. Does anyone have any ideas of creams,lotions or powders that would help this out. Also there is the problem of my belly folding over the scar so lots of sweat seems to accumulate at the scar line.

Stacie...been there, done that. You might want to find a maternity belt. It will help lift your belly and give you some support. You may also want to try to find an all natural powder for the scar itching and sweating. Or maybe even an unscented baby wipe to wipe across it periodically. Sweating can cause a yeast infection. Hope you feel better soon!

How miserable. I hope some kind of oil will help. Several sites I Googled recommended Bio-Oil.

Gil, those were 'Zurel' tulips - aren't they pretty? Well, i went to Dryden with no dh today. Walmart had some bulbs in but the case was wrapped tight in plastic. There weren't very many anyway - nothing that i wanted, though i may have succumbed to the caladiums. Canadian Tire didn't have any in at all, and when i asked, the clerk looked at me as if i was nuts. Next, sil and i checked out a hardware store with an attached nursery and they didn't have any and weren't planning on getting any. >:( Just reread this whole thread, and no one seems to have found begonias anywhere. That's what i was looking for. I should have ordered some. Oh well.... I'll have to mention to my daughter to hint to dh that a great birthday gift would be a gift certificate at one of the nurseries! I already told the kids that they could get me rocks (flagstones). I KNOW dh won't buy rocks! LOL

No fleas, but areas on dog's body get hot

I can almost guarantee it's an issue related to the heart or the blood circulation in a specific area. I saw another post on here from someone that said it could be related to blood circulation or issues with the heart or chest, and that their dog was diagnosed with congestive heart failure, which, my dog has these heated spots as well and also recently got diagnosed with congestive heart failure and fluid retention in the lungs and abdomen. The heat is extremely hot to the touch, like, really really hot at the base of my dogs shoulder blades and migrates down his left side and then around his rump. He does have a weight issue, which is related to the congestive heart failure, and an enlarged heart, and this heating only happens when he's resting, which to me would hint at it being related to blood circulation because his heart has to work harder then he's resting. My advice to anyone that's worrying about this overly heated area: get some x-rays done. Mind everyone else - if it's a warm area where: your dog is itching (or chewing) on their fur relentlessly, is starting to get a wet, balding, or raw look due to scratching their fur out, and may possibly even be causing itself to bleed due to the amount of itching.... Then you have a hot spot. It can be due to skin conditions, fleas, allergies, or even just bad habits or anxiety. You can shave the fur around the spot if it's starting to look raw or wet-like, keep the area clean, and you can also put a shirt on the dog (if they're getting to it by scratching) or a cone on their head (if by chewing) to keep them away from it until you can get them to the vet to treat it. After an emergency C-section and 6 in. long scar, I developed keloids. The damn bumps were along the scar, where the pants zipper is. Ow! The treatment for keloids is surgical removal. But if you get keloids from surgery, how is more surgery gonna make that better? I used vitamin E oil and the keloids went away! It didn't help the scar, but I wasn't into bikinis anyway.

I am a fabricator. It distresses me when someone goes thru an experience like yours because the stone supplier or fabricator did not accurately communicate the material properties of a particular stone. In my shop we make CERTIAN a customer knows the properties of a stone they are considering including signing off on the details because we don't want that unhappy customer coming back a few months down the road. "soft quartzite " doesn't exist. If it's soft (and etches) it's marble and has all the performance deficiencies marble is known for. with Real quartzite is so hard it's a challenge to process in the fab shop which is part of the reason it's considerably more expensive. For your application the only long term option is to replace the top with any one of hundreds of options in natural stone that will hold up to your planned use with little or no maintenance.

With the last baby my muscles and ligaments were so stretched that Hayden was resting on my thighs even when I stood up. That was one of the reasons that I had the c-section because my ligaments were so stretched. The dr. recommended no more babies, but surprise surprise. I wore a belt with the last two and have been wearing a belt for the last 2 months since I was 3 months along to hold my baby belly up. It is mostly at night when I take the belt off and when I get sweaty that it itches the most.

I am going to call the Dr's office and see what they might recommend. Just hoping that Someone would have an idea about a remedy.

If you have some olive oil at home, you might try rubbing that on it to see if it helps. You could also try anti-persperant around the area to see if it will help with the sweating.

Keep it really well moisturized at all times. Vitamin E oil works well.

Almond oil. Several times a day if possible. If not, at least once. As for the sweating, use some Gold Bond powder, but not when you are still oily from the almond oil.
