There are many of you "old Timers" who have not posted to our Getting to Know you thread, lurkers also.

I just started a KT site for all of us to keep our information handy. Won't you join in an let us know something about you? We can all learn from each other.

Great idea Joann, but I hope it doesn't get you kicked off here. A friend of mine on the decor forum started a group, and advertised it there, for when the GW was having trouble and we couldn't post. Her membership was removed. She was able to contact them and get reinstated, but it was a bit traumatic for her since she, like you, only wanted to help out not take members away from the GW.

I've been a member for years. I mostly just read. I'm a mom of three, work part time, and I'm a musician on the side for fun. I'm quiet in a large crowd, fairly anxious in general, my friends call me chop chop, and I have a very healthy sense of humor. I'm also quite opinionated. I like coming here because sometimes I just want my own personal water cooler -

I'm quite entertained at times here! :P

I just posted this for Anne's sister, and I'll paste it here. My sister just finished radiation treatments for her 2nd round of breast cancer. She had a lumpectomy on both of them. Followed by chemo on the first one, (16 yrs ago). The 2nd one was caught very early, and is called breast calcification. It's like little flecks/freckles of it in an area. They did the lumpectomy on it, but the Dr. didn't get the clear margins he wanted, so she had to go back right after Christmas and have more taken out until he was satisfied with the margins. Also, my daughter chose the mastectomy about 4 years ago, along with the reconstruction at the same time. Hers was breast calcification, and caught very early. Leslie

You are all so very kind! I am in Vegas and don't know that anyone would come up this far, but they would be welcome. My sister and her family are in Sugar Land, which is a Houston suburb. They are hoping for the best and riding it out. The traffic is so bad...gas is low. They really don't feel they have much choice. Let's keep all in the path of this hurricane in our thoughts and prayers.

Thanks Laura and Mike! Mike, yes, we do love Christmas movies around here as well. Thank you, happy holidays to you and yours as well. You know, I was THISCLOSE to buying tiny little Christmas lights for some of the citrus trees. We went to a local hardware store because my daughter's band will be marching in a Christmas parade and the kids were encouraged to decorate their instruments. We bought my daughter a stand of battery operated, tiny Christmas lights to decorate her sax with. I wanted some for my little trees as well! I would have to hire someone to do it, but if I decorate our palm tree, I'll send you a pic! I still have an hour and a half before midnight strikes into December, so I wanted to share some pics of some Meyers (grocery store) here in your November pics before I forget. They come from a local vendor, and they are SO big that I even questioned if they were Meyers! I know that they can get big, but these were huge! To me, they didn't seem "smooth" enough to be Meyers, but the produce guy noticed me gawking over them and assured me they purchased them as Meyers.

I just want to gather some information so when our computers go down we have a place to find our favorite places again.
It has happen to me several times and it took so long to get it back. We are just making some friendly memories here. I love the sharing of good times & bad and having someone there to just listen.

I have been married for 21 years and I'm a SAHM of 3 from central Florida. My kids are 17,13, and 11. I first started coming to the KT when I was pregnant with my youngest and I've been here ever since. I like to read, watch reality TV, hunt for bargains, hike, bike, and go on the internet.

I'm from California, part-time school employee. Enjoy reading, gardening, knitting, travel, time with friends--and Kitchen Table too, of course! I have two grown children and am a returned Peace Corps Volunteer.

Oh I'm thrilled to see this thread still here. I was worried it would get axed. Maybe the powers that be understand we don't want to leave, we just want to keep the info handy "just in case".
