Amanda just called me and said that there had been a donation to her vacation fund for Tay. Thanks so much! She said... it is from a lady named Wanda *with your last name*. I just wanted to thank you. You didn't have to do that. Friends from where we used to live and others have asked her how they could help out and one of them sent her that link and so that is why it is there. For tonight, she is baking keylime bars and lemon bars to take to work tomorrow. I just wanted, once again, to say thanks. You are so kind. Wendy

GP Family, Thanks for your thoughts, prayers, sunflowers and well wishes. Had Richard's service yesterday. I guess as these kind of things go, it was nice. His wife held up well through the service. I still can't wrap my brain, foggy brain that it is, around all of this. Someone asked me how his wife was doing through this week and I remember saying, "Does zombie give you a visual?" That's how I feel. Just pretty much making the motions. As you have stated, there is no way I can ever express what this group means to me. I did't mean to dump. Y'all are like a comfy, familiar, old bathrobe...where I can sit back, catch my breath, and snuggle in the words and energy you all pour forth. Thanks.

Patricia, My Mother died the same exact way as yours. She had been suffering with a stiff neck for a couple of weeks. On Monday (June 4, 2007) she went to the hospital to get it checked. On Wednesday (6th) we found out she had liver cancer. It had spread to her adrenial glands, lungs and into her neck. On Sunday (10th) she was gone. She too went peacefully in her sleep. I know what you went through, she went really fast. Although this is all still new to me, I too feel your pain. Grieving is not easy for me right now. I smelt saukraut (sp?) the other day and thought it was kind of funny as I was driving down the road. I close my eyes and see her smiling face but yet I can not cry. Her services are this coming week end (17th/18th) and she is being buried on my son's (her grandson's) birthday. He is taking it so hard, but there is nothing I can do. I have talked till I was blue in the face and can not gt my brother to budge. I just hope I have the strength to go through this. With God's help we wil get through this. Honest? I'd change the paint color. It's not right. Is it horrible OMG the neighbors are going to call and report you to the HOA? No. But it's not right. There is so much potential for the house to look stunning -- instead of just okay -- it almost makes me tear up. I'd be looking more closely @ the following: - There's too little contrast. I think it could handle more color and/or more drama on the B&B. Only question is could you. As for which paint colors specifically, I dunno. Have to think about it. - The arrangement of windows and front door has me drooling. OMG. Something fabulous and bold for the front door color. A dark purple or something like Red Miso from Martha Stewart at SW. - Maybe it makes more sense in person, but I wonder why the garage peak boards were run horizontally only with out the apex detail like on the house. The different widths of siding and boards doesn't flow together well -- a different paint color, however, could change that. The reason I question it is because the windows on the house are so well-done and so balanced and that side of the house is telling a lovely story of symmetry then your eye meanders over to the garage and it's a little like WTH. The garage peak dimensions look identical if not pretty darn close to the house peaks. Mirroring the vertical/horizontal boards on the garage seems like it could be a good idea --- from my seat in the virtual peanut gallery. - I'm concerned that you said that you didn't like the color of white that's up there with the siding. White windows doesn't mean you're obligated to match the trim to that window white -- unless you want to. If you wanted warmer, creamier trim you could still do that and leave the windows white. - Don't feel rushed. If someone has to wait a day or three for you to decide about the repaint, it's not going to kill them. If you need more time, tell them you need more time. (I definitely wouldn't ask, I'd tell, but I'm pushy)

Aw, shucks. You ladies are too nice. I've made so many wonderful friends here. Wendy, you are right--I've been here since 1999. So much has happened since then...so many good memories, and some sad ones also. I'm so glad you are back here, and hope you can convince your mother to come back, too. I really miss her quilt photos! She is my inspiration.

Thanks for asking. I don't recall the name off hand, but I am not that great with my memory right now.

I just saw her about a month and a half ago. She is fine. She still loves to quilt. She also has really gotten into knitting and dabbles in some beading. Still has her yearly tea parties. They moved into their newly built home about two years ago. It is very nice and overlooks a golf course, yet their back yard is the woods... if that makes sense.

She has had some health issues with her heart. They had to defib it a couple of times. Something about it just fluttering rather than beating, and she also has to take a blood thinner. I am not sure exactly why, but she also can't eat green veggies or something to that nature as it makes something go haywire.

Thanks again for asking. She is doing well for the most part.

I love you all! I am especially touched by the kind words today--my baby would have been 43 years old today. It's hard to believe that he has been gone for 2+ years.

My parents and brother just left here a few minutes ago, after a 3-day visit. It was a sad time for them also; Wade was my parents' only grandchild, and they helped me raise him after his dad died.

Thank you, dear friends, for always being there for me...and I promise to always be there for you.
