Wanda.... you touched my girls heart, and mine too...

Amanda just called me and said that there had been a donation to her vacation fund for Tay. Thanks so much! She said... it is from a lady named Wanda *with your last name*. I just wanted to thank you. You didn't have to do that. Friends from where we used to live and others have asked her how they could help out and one of them sent her that link and so that is why it is there. For tonight, she is baking keylime bars and lemon bars to take to work tomorrow. I just wanted, once again, to say thanks. You are so kind. Wendy

What wonderful thoughts! I remember the man the first introduced me to dahlia's when i was about 10-12. he was a biker. that was the first flower i loved. now, i've met a wonderful couple who are sharing dahlias with me that i don't have.and i am sharing mine with them. that's what i love most about gardeners and gardening. we are always willing to share. whether it be the gifts of plants or the gifts of knowledge. when i was younger i wanted to make a name for myself and be known. the older i got i really didnt care if i made a name for myself but wondered if anyone would remember me. even if i'm only the flower lady or the lady with the huge garden thats enough for me. and if i can share that love with children who will grow up to be gardeners that is the best thing to happen. Hopefully, my 5 children will someday share the fever with me!!! my second oldest daughter is getting into growing veggies so we will see. Have alovely day!!

I'm so happy with what you've sent: A very nice card and note Creeping Sedum - new for me Heliopsis 'Lorraine Sunshine' - Love the foliage on this!! Columbine songbird 'Cardinal' - LOVE this columbine!! Scabiosa pale yellow - I've been wanting this also :) Dianthus 'Telstar' - There is even a flower blooming! Viola - pretty colors that I don't have! Sweet William 'Heart Attack'- I love the color of this! Daylily 'David Kirschoff' Daylily Siloam 'Fairy Tale' Daylily 'Bela Lugosi' Daylily 'Nefertiti' I've googled these daylilies, and will absolutely love them blooming in my gardens!! Last night we were in a frost advisory, and I've not been feeling well, picked up some kind of nasty cold virus, so I decided my plants were on their own. My Mother, My Best Friend, Forever in My heart...

Patricia, My Mother died the same exact way as yours. She had been suffering with a stiff neck for a couple of weeks. On Monday (June 4, 2007) she went to the hospital to get it checked. On Wednesday (6th) we found out she had liver cancer. It had spread to her adrenial glands, lungs and into her neck. On Sunday (10th) she was gone. She too went peacefully in her sleep. I know what you went through, she went really fast. Although this is all still new to me, I too feel your pain. Grieving is not easy for me right now. I smelt saukraut (sp?) the other day and thought it was kind of funny as I was driving down the road. I close my eyes and see her smiling face but yet I can not cry. Her services are this coming week end (17th/18th) and she is being buried on my son's (her grandson's) birthday. He is taking it so hard, but there is nothing I can do. I have talked till I was blue in the face and can not gt my brother to budge. I just hope I have the strength to go through this. With God's help we wil get through this. That is one special quilt, Kat and one that you so deserve. I'm a quilter wantabe and I know the work and love that went into making that beautiful quilt. Aw, shucks. You ladies are too nice. I've made so many wonderful friends here. Wendy, you are right--I've been here since 1999. So much has happened since then...so many good memories, and some sad ones also. I'm so glad you are back here, and hope you can convince your mother to come back, too. I really miss her quilt photos! She is my inspiration.

Thanks for asking. I don't recall the name off hand, but I am not that great with my memory right now.

I just saw her about a month and a half ago. She is fine. She still loves to quilt. She also has really gotten into knitting and dabbles in some beading. Still has her yearly tea parties. They moved into their newly built home about two years ago. It is very nice and overlooks a golf course, yet their back yard is the woods... if that makes sense.

She has had some health issues with her heart. They had to defib it a couple of times. Something about it just fluttering rather than beating, and she also has to take a blood thinner. I am not sure exactly why, but she also can't eat green veggies or something to that nature as it makes something go haywire.

Thanks again for asking. She is doing well for the most part.

I love you all! I am especially touched by the kind words today--my baby would have been 43 years old today. It's hard to believe that he has been gone for 2+ years.

My parents and brother just left here a few minutes ago, after a 3-day visit. It was a sad time for them also; Wade was my parents' only grandchild, and they helped me raise him after his dad died.

Thank you, dear friends, for always being there for me...and I promise to always be there for you.
