Back from my bike ride

and here is the picture from the finish area.

Need to unpack, mow lawn, do laundry, and relax. :)

Haven't even figured out yet, how many miles we rode.

With that big smile I'd say you must have had lots of fun.
Did you run into any bad weather?

Was it a new route, and if so, was it interesting?
I just shake my head with exhaustion.

Good bike shops also sometimes have nice bikes that people have traded in when they upgrade. The staff goes over them to make sure everything works properly, and sell them for a very reduced price. So you might not get the exact color you want - you could always have it painted at an auto body shop (or bust out the spray paint) if it meant that much to you. Also, you can call the local police department and ask if they have a bike auction. Many jurisdictions auction off stolen bikes that were never reclaimed by their owners, with the money going to a police charity (like college scholarships for children of officers killed or disabled in the line of duty). A triathlete I know got a $1k+ racing bike for under $100 at a police auction... he was about the only one who knew what it was and snatched it up. All it needed was new tires from sitting in storage for months. I miss riding a bike, but my balance is shot. There are stabilizer wheels for adult bikes but I think they'd just look too goofy. My PT says adult trikes tend to be tippy.

Always in red on Thursday you will find me. I have been hiding at a friends in east Texas all week, so I couldn't sign on until now.... If I am not wrong, I think that a lot of the chemo liquid is red....true? I know my sisters was, and that is why I wear it proudly for all the gals dealing with cancer and other issues. I want my land dripping with roses, too, but am limited by a shortage of climbable trees, and soil either too thin and root-infested or too heavy. But I'm finding ways. The Ayrshire and Sempervirens ramblers, bred from native European roses, can handle the clay and adverse conditions in general; there are pockets of better soil where I'm successfully growing a few Himalayan musk ramblers and their hybrids: 'Treasure Trove' and 'Brenda Colvin' (both R. filipes hybrids), 'La Mortola' (a form of R. brunonii). Ramblers in general seem to be tough cookies: quite a few Multiflora and Wichuriana/Luciae ramblers are giving a good account of themselves even in adverse conditions. I also have my warm climate Tea and Noisette climbers, most of them grafted, but they do require an exceptional amount of amendment, and terracing, to grow at all. The Banksiaes are tough and surprisingly adaptable: currently I have two each of the double yellow and white Lady Banks roses, and all are growing satisfactorily, the two yellows climbing now into trees, I'm talking here about tree climbers, house eaters. For people in cold zones, I don't know if any of the really huge roses are hardy enough. And of course they take up a lot of room.

Judy, we had rain a couple of times. One time we out ran it, on our way to the new overnight town, and got the tent set up just prior to a downpour with hail. Next time we found an open barn/equipment shed and took shelter during heavy rain, again with hail.

Overall, it was a BLAST! :) Just like always.

The route was similar to 2004, when I rode cross the US instead.

No, I don't have to do it all tonight, but it's stuff just waiting for me. LOL

and... got a mail, tomorrow is open house in Tulsa.

Guess we will head over there, and mow, and make sure all looks good, since daughter number one moved back out.

This was not the ride was it to commerate the 2 riders that died I beleive in tulsa was it moni? sorry I don't know....Stacy

Stacy, it is like the sign says, the Oklahoma FreeWheel. Yes, I know about the two riders that got run over and killed. It happened while I was gone.

Maryann... I have seen pictures of THAT ride, and NO, it wasn't that one. LOL, I may dance outside the line sometimes, but I won't go that far!!!
