Great finds. While the lion head is indeed cool, I actually like the kettles more, myself. That said, the real reason for my posting is that I am a bit alarmed by the placement of the lion-head fountain. All it will take is a small amount of deposits of calcium or algae or whatever forming on the water outlet to redirect a small trickle of water down the front of the placard and toward that power outlet. Hopefully it is a gfci protected circuit which 'should' prevent anyone grabbing that cable from getting zapped, but even a GFCI outlet can short out and cause a fire when doused with water. Sorry for being the nay-sayer :(

My New German goodies

Happy New Year, Livebetter! Hmm, wonder why the Persil Gold is not on the website. It says Made in Germany on the bottle, and the entire bottle is auf Deutsch...No English/French/Italian, etc... I think Persil smells a tad better, but Dash smells clean. I did 2 loads with Dash, and the clothes look and smell great, but for some reason my stainless wash drum in my Miele looks murky & coated. The ingredients on the Persil and the Dash are very similar, and both have Phosphates. Don'd know why the Dash made the stainless look murky, almost greasy looking. Persil and Ariel (both made and purchased in Germany) leave my Stainless spotless!! I hope I can use the Dash...it smells great, clothes looked amazing and I have what looks to be like 10 liters :) Still really think Vaska Herbatergent is great, especially for towels and sheets. In fact, I think I will always use it for my towels and sheets. Perfection. Great on clothes too, but my son had some red clay on his school pants, and the Vaska did not remove it. Made it a lot better, but still there. Clorox Green Works, Persil or Ariel take red clay away quickly. Again, Happy New Year! Larsi

I Received my Fall Swap Goodies!

I just had to send out a big thank you to phyllis_mn for the package I received on Tuesday. It was a nice thing to come home to after a long day at work - an adorable jack-o-lantern candle holder, a candle plate and candle, dish towels, wild rice from MN (which I am looking forward to adding to a nice fall soup), a funny book about MN, Halloween window clings, stickers, and a cute gift bag! Thank you, Phyllis!

Haven't heard anything yet. HUD Housing & Urban Development with other words, a house in foreclosure. No need for an inspector... as you buy as is. There is a list of what has been inspected by HUD prior to them listing it. Had two good male friends and a good realtor look, and all agree on what needs to be done first. :) Still hoping.. wishing... I bid 10,000.00 less than they asked for it. No telling how long it will take before I hear something, as my realtor friend hadn't done a HUD bidding online before. I'll keep you posted. Moni

Thanks for all the good wishes. Life is great at 88!

I should have mentioned that the creme puffs are special order only so you see that makes me SPECIAL!

Her cupcakes are all scrumptious.

I'm going to post some pictures of her latest weddings one day soon.

Happy Birthday Sue!

Yum! Those cream puffs sure do remind me of my Grandma. Whenever she would take the bus to our house from downtown she would walk down our street carrying a bakery box tied with string full of cream puffs from Kresgie's. I couldn't eat the cream but I always ate the puff. Cupcakes look divine too.
