Eld, I like the idea of a special gardening event but that is something we already do together. Joanie, We do theater and dinner on a regular basis. Such a good idea though. Fun2B, The idea of a plant or tree for her garden is something I think would be appreciated and would be a lasting gift. That along with Oily's spoon idea would be a good combo. Funky, I am leaning the way of a garden gift as you suggested. Mtn, As I mentioned I would give it either before or after the party. I would not bring it to the party. Something small, but meaningful is what I am seeking, as you suggested. SueB, Love the idea of a group photo and will definitely do that with our "townie friends". She would love that! Local, She has hired a photographer. This woman is amazing in getting all the details right. Ann, A spa day is nice but she does that all the time. What makes a small tree or garden plant totally appropriate is the fact that my friend is moving closer to the city, but will still have a small yard. Basically, she will be starting fresh and will make her mark on her garden. Then I can add the spoon, a very nice touch. After the party I will present her with a photo of close friends in town. My son got his pilot's license as a senior in HS, and lessons were $225/hr, both in CT and near our summer house in Maine. (That is also what they charge for an introductory flight) He is looking to go to the next level and get his license for instrument flying; given how many hours or lessons one needs, he'd probably switch if he could fly for half; if you don't mind can you message me with the place you found? What about a flower subscription so that a fresh bouquet is delivered once a month for 6 months to a year? Bloomsy Box, Bouqs, and UrbanStems all come to mind. A gift card to Williams Sonoma may be nice. Or if you know of a boutique she likes to purchase from to decorate her own home, that would be appreciated, I'm sure. I agree that gifting actual decor items could be difficult unless you know of something specific she has her eye on.

I have already ordered some consumables for some friends who are in our supper club. I have ordered homemade shortbread, cookies, and a mixed variety of her biscotti. I plan to make up a mixed bag for each couple and give it to them before Thanksgiving so the can enjoy it now. We have a local leather shop that makes beautiful small leather goods that are hand embossed with monograms if desired. DH and I are going to go check out a couple of small money clips for our guys in the family. I have seen these and they look perfect for a drivers license and credit card with a money clip for cash. I need a 21st birthday gift for our oldest DGD pretty soon. Don’t have a clue yet what to get for her.
