Exporting you contacts to the tablet would keep the intact on your PC, but I'm not 100% sure about keeping everything synced. I _think_ you would have to make any additions, deletions, or changes on the PC and then export them to the tablet. The easiest solution might just to be a migration to Gmail. That might make even more sense if you anticipate adding an Android phone down the line. You can make Gmail pretty darn secure by enabling Google's security feature which requires not only a password but also a PIN that Google can text or call you with to a preassigned phone number. Along with Gmail comes Google Docs, a modest office suite of applications and the ability to store documents from your desktop. The nice thing about "cloud" applications is there's no need to syncs - everything is available everywhere. The drawback is that you need an Internet connection.

Suzie, here is how you can make your wireless network more secure. Perform the following steps: 1. In your internet browser, type 192.168.1.1 and hit ENTER 2. If you are asked for a User name and Password, the default name for both of them is: admin If you want to create a unique User name and Password for this access, you can do so, but make sure you remember what it is, or write it down. This user name and password allows access to your Linksys Setup Page. You can keep the default, or create your own. By creating your own user name and password, you are creating another layer of security for your wireless network. 3. You should next see the Linksys Wireless Router Setup Page. Click on the Wireless tab at the top, and then you will need to give your wireless network a name at the Network Name(SSID) location. This is the name that everyone will see, just like how you saw your neighbors wireless networks. If you give it a unique name, people will see it, but they probably won't know that it is your network. A second option is just below this area. If you click on "Disable" for the SSID Broadcast, your network will not be visible to the other networks around you. After you have made all your choices, you must click "Save Settings" at the bottom of the page for your changes to take effect. You should then see a message that says "Settings are successful". 4.Next, under the same Wireless tab, click on "Wireless Security". At the Security Mode option, click the drop-down arrow and choose WPA2-Personal; then choose TKIP encryption if not already chosen. Then, VERY IMPORTANT...you will need to choose a passphrase. The passphrase will be used to sign into your network, make it by using a combination of letters, numbers, and other characters (exclamation point, asterisk, pound sign, etc.) so that it will be difficult for a hacker to figure it out. After you have done this, click Save Settings at the bottom, and you should now have a much more secure network!!!

It is android so they are all pretty much the same, just like one pc Running windows xp is about the same as any other. Android is extremely easy and intuitive. Yes you can get other browsers but I would work with the one designed for that device till you are more comfortable. There are hundreds of applications you can add there will be an icon for market just hit that, use your google log in, and take a look around. The most popular browsers are Dolphin, opera mini, sunfire, firefox, not as good as pc version, you can try out as many as you like, delete what you don't want. There are other good markets you will want to add, Amazon market, just add the market apk to the unit then you can get Apps from there too, another I recommend is getjar market they have a lot of free ones that are pay for on the others. For security I recommend Lookout security, it's free and good. Not sure what you mean by video's, to view them just play like on a pc. Go to you tube and try one. The camera willhave a camera icon just tap and try the pic will be found in the gallery. I am sure this is all in the manual. Just jump in and play, enjoy it is a fabulous tablet.

So many good suggestions - thank you all. I think I will try the Otterbox. It will make DH happy since he researched it plus it does offer good protection. DH really did all his homework - he also bought the 2 year full protection plan' and a stylus. Checking the reviews I read that many complained about the difficulty in installing it and that Otterbox's own video wasn't too enlightening. many also mentioned that it's not something that's easy to put on and take off. Good point about the foldable headphones. DH doesn't care for ear buds so he'd prefer them too. I have a Kindle eReader and all of my books transferred to the Fire. I have subscribed to several free Kindle sites but I really find the best recommendations are when KT members mention titles they've found and post about it. The number of books are overwhelming and it can be hard to pick the good ones from the mass of mediocre books. DH paid the extra $15 so I don't get any of Amazon's "special offers" (a.k.a. advertisements) but I did notice today that there are small adds on the top of some pages. So I guess I'll have to install Adblock Plus. And I should download Avast too. Pammyfay I got a chuckle out of your suggestion to pick up a little pouch for my charger and earphones. It's amazing how quickly the cables, connectors, chargers and other accessories for these devices multiply. I started out with a small clear plastic zippered pouch to hold the cables and chargers for my cell phone and iPod. Then when DH gave me the eReader I bought a slightly larger one. I have so many duplicates that I finally labeled them and I now keep one set at home, another in the car and a third set at our vacation house. I'm sure I'll be hitting the 'Mayday' button regularly. I've already jotted down a few questions. I'll save Raven's link to the 12 tips - there are 5 or 6 that are useful now and the others might come in handy in the future.
