How often do you clean out/change purses?

Again today I noticed my purse is full of too many kleenex, receipts, loose change, etc. I guess I clean it out about once a month, put everything in order. I bought one of those purses on TV (not the one I'm using now) and it can't hold all the stuff I carry. So do you clean out/ change purses often?

I clean out my purse about once a month, more if I'm traveling.
    I don't change purses very often.Maybe 3 times a year.

I stopped carrying a purse when my doctor told me it was most likely the reason for my severe back and shoulder pain. Now, I carry a fanny pack, in which I have my driver's license, credit card, pen, paper and cell phone. I like it MUCH better. I didn't use 99% of what I carried in my purse!

To answer your question, I take everything out of the fanny pack and toss the fp in the laundry about once a month - other than that, that's that! LOL

Well, I have cooked a 15 lb turkey, with good results. And it was done very quickly - in about 2 hours, as I recall. I have also cooked cornish game hens, two up, with great results. I've seen photos of baby back ribs being cooked with the rotisserie, which looks like a good idea as well, although trussing them up on the spit is probably a bit complicated. Basically though, I think poultry is ideal for rotisserie, as they are hollow inside. I don't know who well a leg of lamb or beef roast would do, but probably they would be fine as well. I really like the cleanliness of rotisserie cooking - the dip pan catches just about everything and the drippings don't burn so they make good gravy as well.

no purse, Just pockets. So everyday. I have a money clip with cards and cash in one pocket, my cell phone and keys in another. sometimes lip balm. No, I am not a man, but I hate having to carry a purse. I work in merchandising in grocery stores. I don't like to hide my purse in the car,or try to keep and eye on it while working in the stores..... so I got used to pockets. When I do carry a purse, going out to dinner or dressed up nice with no pockets, I clean it out when I go to work the next day. Now, since I am used to NOT carrying a purse, I have been known to leave it sitting in a booth when we go out to dinner..... ooops!

ooh thinking about the dryer sheet. I have (both new lol) a shark navigator and a dog- Of course I empty the bin just about each time I use it, but there is fine dust and some hair that is caught in the back. The fine dust is a pain no matter how I try to empty it, even taking it to the big trash bin in the garage it works better but I end up with the fine dust on my hands. I must be challenged. The I am going to try the dryer sheet to see if it helps "collect" the fine dust.

Every evening. I don't like having to carry a purse but it's a necessary evil sometimes. I pack it only with what I need for the day and I never use it as a "file cabinet" like so many women do. I want it light and organized as possible. You'll never see me having to dig through a purse. I can tell you everything that's in it.

Since I wish I didn't need one I have decided to have fun with them. I have a wardrobe of purses from tiny to small. I change them according to my whim and how much space I need.

I have carried the same purse for over ten years. It is a soft leather hobo type purse, and it is just perfect for me. I empty it out probably once a week, as all the collected junk drives me nuts.

I use a purse until I tire of it, usually a couple years. It gets cleaned out every few months... I actually cleaned it out earlier today!

    My name is Stoney. I ... gulp ... am a purse-aholic.

It's true. On any given day, I have a minimum of 30 purses in my closet. By the end of yard-sale season I'll have at least 50. I may change purses once a week, every couple of weeks or every couple of months. It depends on my mood, as well as the season. I have a wonderful Brighton bright turquoise/applegreen bag with matching billfold I got at a YS three years ago for $15. I have to use it every spring for at least a month. Right now I'm on a "pink" kick for breast cancer since that's what I've been dealing with. I bought three cute pink bags last weekend, two are name brand, that I got for $5.

The funny thing? Is that when I'm not at work, I don't even carry a purse. I have my driver's license, medical cards and debit card in a little leather card holder that fits in my back pocket, and the cellphone has a leather holder that clips onto my shorts. Don't need anything else when I'm on "my" time.

If I can find a new purse I like, I'll usually have one for summer, one for winter. I'm still using the purse I've used for the past couple of winters, because I cannot find one I like enough to use this summer.

But it gets completely emptied, cleaned out and reorganized every Thursday. Even though I don't keep much in my purse.

My purse gets cleaned out every time I use it - about once or twice a week. I carry the same purse year round. It's a nice leather bag, and I see no need to have more than one.

I usually clean out my purse when:
    A. It starts getting to heavy with junk
    B. I cann't find anything any more
    C. When we are going on a trip
    D. I change purses. :o)

Every couple of weeks, especially in summer! I too love bags and have several of them. My fave summer bag is a bright yellow canvas D & B bag with leather handles that are yellow, bright green, hot pink and bright blye striped handles. For years I changed bags daily, depending on my clothing. I kept a basket in my room, each night I emptied my bag into it. Then I had everything at my figertips in the mmorning.

I clean it as I go. Every time I go somewhere I check for money, get fresh puffs and throw out the used ones. Receipts always come home in the bag, unless it's a refund. If I see a stray piece of paper, I look to see if it is important, put it where it belongs. When I work in the kitchen, I do the same thing. When I finish with items I put them away right then. And I am not obsessed with this, it's just something I do for order. I am afraid I will pull out a $20. bill along with other junk if it's not orderly. LOL

About once a week. I now have a small Coach bag I'm using. it's small, about 5 inches by six, so I don't have much in it. I no longer use a wallet. It holds house and car keys, some cash, my important papers-drivers license, credit cards, medical insurance cards, a small mirror, my checkbook, maybe a pen and some makeup. Yes I'm very careful with it. It has a shoulder strap ,and I loop it over my head and carry it across my body.

    My purses are very small...

nothing accumulates in them, so there really is nothing to clean out.

Kayjones, I also use a fanny pack! I put all my purses in the last yard sale. My Fanny Pack is probably about 20 years old. It is black leather. There is a small zippered section on the front, then the main zippered part, and a third zippered section on the back.

The small front pocket holds my lipstick, some tictacs, a red wrist band with a list of meds that I can't take, kleenex and my car keys. The big pocket holds my wallet, a small folder with credit cards, another small folder thingy with my insurance cards. The back pocket has only a spare set of car keys.

I don't carry my driver's license with me. It stays in the ash tray in the car. The only time I ever got stopped by a cop, I didn't have my license with me, so since then it stays in the car. I never need it for anything when I'm shopping.

You and I are in the minority, but I sure don't miss lugging a big purse around and my hands are free, and I don't have to think about leaving it in the grocery cart!

Oh, about cleaning it out? Takes about two seconds!

Sue (and anyone else who doesn't carry their license or state ID card)

Your driver's license (or state ID) is the most important piece of ID you can carry. It is synonymous with "ID" in every state. It is the most important thing to have on you should disaster or illness strike. It is the quickest way for emergency personnel to find out who you are and other information about you.

Leaving it in your car is an invitation to identity theft. You might as well leave the car keys and your house keys too.

Please carry your DL with you.

I change purses to match whatever shoes I have on. If I have white shoes on, then I carry a white purse, black with black, brown with brown, and so on. If I am wearing tennis shoes, then I usually am wearing jeans, in which case I have a demin purse.

I don't change purses very often. Actually I hate changing purses because I am a creature of habit. I get use to everything being in one place and then I have to buy a new purse because the purse I have is getting a worn look and I then have to "learn" where everything is placed again.

I clean my purse out about once a week. Mostly receipts and shopping lists. I change purses probably a couple times a month, it just depends on what I am wearing.

I make my own purses, but have my favorite, so I don't change it often. As for cleaning it out, I do that about once a month.

rthummer, I am also a creature of habit but have been changing purses more than usual for me. I have made it simple, I have a wallet of course, a thin flat one for any size purse and a cosmetic bag. I put all the small things in it, lipstick, breath mints, clippers, etc.. My phone is visible and easy to switch, so it's easy and I don't leave anything in the old purse.

When I graduated from high school in '65, my mother's friend gave me a clutch type wallet as a graduation gift, and somehow, very quickly, that evolved into my purse, and I have just carried a wallet like that ever since. I carry the same one for years...until it literally falls apart. Right now, the zipper on the zippered coin compartment is broken, so when I am out and I get change, I carry it in my pocket, or put it in the console of my truck. My truck is my purse. I keep receipts in my wallet and about once a month, take them out and put them away. I save a lot of my change, and keep it in a jar in one of my cupboards. Once a month, I empty the jar and put it away. I try to make sure I save a little more each month than I did the previous one.

I've tried carrying a purse a couple of times since I switched to the wallet and it seems so heavy and kills my shoulders. Hairbrush and anything I think I will need....I keep in my truck.

Never change my purse. I've been carrying this old rag around for years. Only clean it when I'm digging for quarters for the laundry. lol
Used a fanny pack for years, but couldn't find one of the nylon ones that I liked after mine bit the dust, so ended up with this light nylon purse.

I do change often mostly to match an outfit...But I make most of my purses so it's easy to do....I try to empty the loose change about once a week and dump in a container...One of these day, I'm going to count that change, maybe have enough for another trip.....

I change purses every few days, depends on my mood, where I'm going, what I'm wearing. I keep a small cosmetic bag with lip gloss, lotion, band aids, etc. and a small wallet, cellphone. I find keeping all the loose things in a small bag makes it easy to change frequently.

I've been changing a little more often lately than what I used to. I have one new and one (semi) new purse so I've been switching back and forth between them for awhile.

I have one of the flat wallets that holds a lot of my important stuff so the rest is just transferred over when I switch purses.

I find myself cleaning out my purse a lot of times when I'm waiting on Twinkie while he's in a gun/ammo store, etc.! LOL
