I worked with a woman needing a kidney transplant and a woman from her church offered to donate one. The surgery was done in San Francisco and the surgeon just happened to be from the high school my friend had gone to. He was a few years older.
I will continue to keep you in my healing thoughts and prayers.

How super. My cousin just got a kidney from his brother last month. Did you know that the recipient of a kidney has almost no pain from the transplant! I'm serious. And recovery is very quick! I am hoping this is the same with you and all works out well! Please keep us posted!

Yesterday at dialysis i told the dr.that my nieces husband offered me a kidney he seemed thrilled,he asked if hes in good health I said as far as I know,theyre doing a blood type tommorrow,as I was leaving the head nurse of the d unit stopped asked why he wants blood type run ,I said I may have a kidney donor actually its 2 my sisternlaw said she would too,The nurse said they dont have to be perfect match anymore thier drugs are soo good.
I dont know when ,rules are different if you get live donor compared to a cadaver.They would rather have live,it lasts longer for one,I see light at the end of the tunnel.
Ive been through soooo much,I found out I had this when my mother passedaway .I was 18.I had all kinds problems for years,so much medications,so many dr app.s To be 54 now on dialysis.2 years this week.I am at the point Im not sure how much more dialysis I can do,no energy,cant get anything done..exhausted all the time.oh my gosh..

I am so happy for you! A friend of mine received a donated kidney that wasn't a perfect match and she is doing great today.

Keep healthy so there is no delay in the surgery whenever it happens. Any infection will put it off.
