never say never....but it 's lower in calories than the turkey sausage breakfast muffin. just doesn't appeal to me.

I used to love their breakfast croissants! Had one close to my home years ago, but then they closed.

My local DD do not save UCG, they just dump them in the trash with other waste. Starbucks packages theirs up, ready for pick up but there is not one very close to me. They look good! I lost my mom's recipe for these little donuts, but I remember that there was cinnamon and nutmeg in the batter. They were so good! Here's a recipe for Beignets (Fritters) from one of my French grandmother's very old cookbooks. I've translated it from French to English. I've never made them, but thought you might be interested to see it. BEIGNETS (FRITTERS) How to cook fritters: For fritters, the thermometer must indicate 360 F to 370 F. Dip a spoon in the hot fat, and with that spoon pick up a spoonful of batter, let it slide carefully into the pot. When the fritters are not too voluminous, it is best to fry them in about 1Â½ inches of fat or enough to let them float. Frying too many at one time means they will touch each other and will be less crispy. Turn the fritters over once they rise up to the surface of the fat, and then turn over often while theyÂre frying so that they cook evenly all over. When they are nicely browned, remove them. Let them drain on paper towel before placing them on a plate. PÃ¢te Ã Beignets (Basic Fritter Batter): 1 cup flour 1-1/2 tsp baking powder Â½ tsp salt Pepper Â½ cup milk 1 egg, beaten Sift together flour, salt, and baking powder. Beat egg and add to milk, mix; add to dry ingredients, stir to get a smooth batter. Cut meat, fish, fruits, or vegetables in small cubes; add them to the batter and drop by spoonfuls into the deep hot fat. Beignets au Saumon (Salmon Fritters): Add chopped parsley and Â¾ cup of shredded salmon to Basic Batter. Fry, and serve with a fish sauce. Beignets au BlÃ© dÂInde (Corn Fritters): Prepare Basic Batter recipe but with 2 eggs (separated) and only 2 Tbsp of milk. Salt a little more, add 1 cup of corn and, at the end, fold in stiffly-beaten egg whites. Beignets aux Fruit (Fruit Fritters): 1 cup flour 1Â½ tsp baking powder Pinch salt Â¾ tsp cinnamon (optional) 3 Tbsp powdered sugar (confectionersÂ) 6 Tbsp milk 1 egg 2 cups fruit Sift together flour, baking powder, cinnamon (if using), salt, and sugar. Gradually add milk and beaten egg. Beat to get smooth batter. Dip peeled apple slices, pineapple slices, peach or pear quarters, into the batter. Fry, and drain. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with whipped cream or a sauce. Beignets aux Bananes (Banana Fritters): Peel 6 bananas, cut into Â½-inch slices, sprinkle with 2 Tbsp powdered sugar and 1 Tbsp orange juice. Let sit for 20 minutes. Dip slices in the batter, drop into the hot fat one by one. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve immediately.

Mmmmmmm....donuts.... Why can't they be good for us? And only 3? lol, if I have to pick, I guess I'll choose: 1. Krispy Kreme original 2. Dunkin Donut's french crueller 3. Butterfly - haven't seen one since I was little. It was like an extra thick cinnamon roll cut almost in two, split open flat, so that it looked like two cinnamon rolls laying side by side, then it was iced w/ maple frosting. OMG, is was soooo good. A little Daylight Donuts store in my home town made them.

so fun you said it twice! We had one that looked like a waffle iron and he loved it. He loved making them and eating them. I kept thinking, these suckers should be fried! I've probably eaten worse and like brightonborn said, never say never, might find myself on a trip where, I didn't have much choice or something but normally it wouldn't be something I would eat...

Not a chance, I don't even put syrup or jam on a waffle or pancake till the egg is eaten - no mixing savory and sweet for me.

No thank you..BUT have you ever had a donut (split) with butter on each side and fried..sounds terrible but taste oh so good. It's a good way to have the left over donuts..

Yucky! I used to love donuts and had them almost every day--that was when I was young and skinny. I haven't had a donut in more than 20 years. My mouth still waters when I pass a bakery, but they just aren't worth the calories to me.

One of my guilty pleasures is a jelly donut from Dunkin Donuts but I try to restrain myself to once a month or so. I think I'll pass on that combination.

well I can't remember the last time I ate a donut so I kinda doubt it, but I wouldn't be opposed to trying a bite. I do love sweet and savory together, my husband doesn't. We both like egg sandwiches on occasion. We are both avoiding this kind of stuff, you know come to think about it I don't think I have ever been in a Dunkin Donuts or had one, I have years ago had Krispy Kreme which was super sweet.

No. Not a fan of donuts, although once in awhile I will eat a Shipley donut. I don't like Dunkin Donuts. I also don't eat eggs. The bacon is the only part that looks good. I'd pass on the coffee too.

Donna, when I was a kid, we got day-olds from the bakery and that is exactly what Mom did with them. They softened up nicely and were heavenly.

Now, I don't eat donuts very often at all.

I saw a guy on TV try one out. He said the bacon wasn't crispy, he did not like it. As I said before, the whole idea does not appeal to me.
