Nutty donuts??? Donuts with nuts sprinkled on the icing?????

Sunshine, swimming, fast cars, Disney World, and NO NUTTY DONUTS?!?! GASP!
What part of the world is this? LOL

See if they have crumb donuts. Same thing by a different name. Just read a website that said "nutty donuts are rare in the south but plentiful in the north." Hopefully, someone here can help you find some. Have big fun otherwise!

I've never heard of nutty donuts. Publix bakery leaves alot to be desired, IMHO. But their Breakfast Bread is wonderful. It's loaded with dried fruit and nuts!

We had them in MI too, but no, they don't seem to be down here in Florida. The denture remark, was a little off base...not everyone down here is "old" and has dentures. Alot of the people who live around here could run rings around most young people. They are very active every single day and would make you tired just watching them.

I've lived in Tennessee and Mississippi for 60 years and have never heard of them til now.

We were at a very nice restuarant last year, Sharkey's, when one of us asked the waiter if a certain dish was spicy. He leaned close and said, "Look around, nothing in here is spicy".

We have them here in Ohio, and they are my favorite! The inside is like a cake doughnut, not mushy liked glazed ones. The "icing" is not really icing, but more an extremely light layer of soft glaze, just enough to make the crushed peanuts stick to them - not enough to be squishy. They are not available at Dunkin doughnuts, or krispy kremes around here. But theres is a place here called Jolly Pirate doughnuts that always has them on the shelf. And most of the smaller single owner shops have them too.

By the way, we have some friends who stay in Rotunda for 3 months. Maybe you will run into them.
