I guess they looked good to him at the time. I guess you could put them into sandwich bags, then in a frezer bag and freeze them. Wouldn't be any problem here. Hubby could woof those down in no time!

We have a small, local donut shop that makes their own. Only open until about noon. Very, very good :)

When Krispy Kreme 1st came to town, everyone rushed to have those hot ones.But they are long gone.. I still prefer Duncan Donuts and love the blueberry crunch.....

I used to like the old fashioned glazed ones, but now I prefer cherry cake type. I only indulge when I go on a bus trip and have a continental breakfast the first morning out. Which I will do on the ninth of this month.

I forgot to add I also like crullers and apple fritters. We use to get those as a kid on the way home from church on Sunday. It was a big treat!

When my brothers and I were young, Mama made our donuts and we were known to fight over the last one. Mama would end that fight...break it into 4 pieces and we knew better than to argue about who had the biggest piece...LOL

When we get the hankering for donuts I just make ours. I like them so much better and I can control the amount of sugar topping that goes on them.

Really, I dearly love donuts but I know I can't make them a lot because I could eat every single one in a sitting..hahahaha

I like Krispy Kreme they are shipped in to the stores here I used to eat them in Miami Fl and we'd watch them being made

I have two fake DD's in a DD box and they are room scenters smells like the real thing

I love Dunkin Donuts, but the price has gone through the freaking roof!! So, I just make them at home anymore and they are just as good. At least DH says so. (Truth be known, he better say that !!! LOL)

Krispy Kreme don't have any substance to them, and not one that I care to indulge my caloric intake on. But a good plain cake donut and I am in donut heaven.

So I treat myself to just one or two occasionally from a place up the street. Their donuts are really really good.
I like the butternut or cinnamon crunch or plain glazed there.

At DD's I like the buttermilk and the black raspberry jelly.

The only donuts I can't stand are Krispy Kremes. Disgusting wads of sugared fat.

My very favorite donut is a fresh French Cruller with a light glaze. Can't find a good one anymore.

Krispy Kreme and only Krispy Kreme. I could eat the whole box.

I like doughnuts, but I don't buy them. The last one I had was from a gas station that just opened about 3 months ago. Amber bought a dozen and I ate one. It was really good. Oh, the special was $.25 each that day. I guess you could pick out the different kinds you liked.

About once a year I just can't resist a maple bar. It is the only donut product I like. I used to like glazed donuts.

DH has brought home three donuts (four when DD lived at home) every Sunday or holiday morning for about 20 years. A maple covered cake for me. We haven't actually fought about it but I explain to him about twice a year that I really don't need the extra calories/temptation so I would appreciated if he didn't bring the donuts home. That request usually last no longer than a week.

Got to go...there's a beautiful maple cake sitting on the kitchen counter calling my name. :-)

I haven't eaten one in a while too.. I like filled..custard, jam...whatever....and then frosting on top.. Krispy Kreme once had a few that were a "seasonal" thing. One was a Coffee Cream something or other and the other was a caramel something or other...Those were sugar highs..

But alas...donuts are a bread product and we don't get along to well.......

I know it's not a donut technically but when I can find a good bakery with a cream filled, maple frosted long john... box 'em up!

I remember when my cousin's daughter was first diagnosed diabetic. My mother about fainted when my cousin gave her a cake donut. Then she said, think about it, there's what, a tablespoon or two of sugar in a whole batch of donuts? Not going to affect her at all. Few grains of sugar in each. Course we're talking about ones she made so she knew exactly how much was in there. And of course it wasn't glazed or frosted.

Dunkin is long gone. Krispy Kreme is at some of the gas stations. Don't really see the attraction to Krispy Kreme myself. There's a few good bakeries around. But there's a lot of bad ones too.

Our Dunkin is gone but the new owners still use the same recipe.

Krispy Kreme is so sweet it gives us a tummy ache. Never saw why they were so popular. Didn't last long here, long gone. When we crave a donut we buy 1 apple fritter or two glazed donuts from our neighborhood 24 hour donut shop, fresh and so special as we only treat outselves when we know we are not going to eat a full dinner. Less often now that I have to avoid caffeine in the evening. When I worked in an office, we would buy a whole dozen in the morning for coffee break and that's about the only time I ate them instead of breakfast, what a bad habit that was.

It's not in my heart to fight about donuts. Donuts are precious.

My favorite is plain ol' cake ... no frosting, no sprinkles, no glaze, no nuthin. When I buy the donuts, that's what I get for me. For him, I get his favorite which is a glazed cinnamon roll.

On the other hand, when DH does the buying, he has never in 25 years of marriage, bought me a plain ol' cake donut. He brings me regular donuts, or chocolate cake, or cake with frosting, sprinkles, etc.

I eat around the parts I don't like, scrape off the sprinkles, or whatever.

That sounds like exactly the kind of disagreement we could have around here, too. They think they're being thrifty and bring home food not worth eating, but hey- they saved 35 cents! lol

I'm a jelly-filled or cake donut girl, about twice a year when we travel I will get myself a donut when we stop for coffee. Woody's not crazy about donuts but he'll force himself to snarf one down if I buy him one. He's not picky, but I know not to get him chocolate covered. Too messy in the car! lol

Gosh, I haven't had a donut in years, but I do love the yellow custard ones and also the blueberry crunch.

I would eat a jelly donut every day if I could. Dunkin Donuts and Honey Dew are the best sources locally.

Krispy Kreme was a big bust around here. Nobody even tries to sell them anymore.

Frankly, I thought they tasted like whipped, warm Crisco.

I have to weigh in on the Krispy Kreme donuts. We had constantly heard about them but we don't have any around here. When we were in Las Vegas 7 years ago we finally had one. I was not impressed. I think there use to be a Dunkin Donuts downtown but it has been long gone.

We have a local café and the owner has been making donuts every morning for years. They are the best I've ever eaten. I seldom eat anything from white sugar any more, but do occasionally have one of her donuts.

My favorite is an apple cider cake donut. There is an apple orchard in Hampton Falls NH that makes them fresh every day.
I met DH when I worked in a donut shop (YIKES 32 years ago).
We tried Krispy Cream when we went to visit family in Asheville. Neither one of us liked them but we come from Massachusetts where DD originated.

Never met a doughnut I didn't like!! LOL! We stopped at a little shop the other day,not a big chain one.I forget the name of it though.Dang....they were some good doughnuts! I do have to admit I don't care a whole lot for the doughnuts at the bakery on the corner here,his rolls are out of this world good,but his dougnuts,not so much.He cooks them in real lard and that taste is all through them.(Doesn't stop me from eating them though if Larry brings 1 or 2 home)

Many of our rose gardening clubs have shows where hobbyists enter home-grown cut roses to win prizes. The venues may open as early as 6am, and bleary-eyed competitors stagger in, often having gone most of the night without sleep doing preparation.

What saves them? Coffee and donuts!!! I'm usually just helping, rarely exhibiting, but boy do I look forward to those donuts.

I rarely eat them otherwise, due to their lack of redeeming caloric value, but cake or raised, sprinkled or glazed, they are taaaasty!

Oh, forgot, I do like the new Hardee's Biscuit Holes once in awhile. Pretty tasty!

everyone was so excited when Krispy Kreme first made it out to our part of the country...had heard how terrific they were....well, we don't like them at all.

Little bakery one town over has wonderful Maple Bars, okay so they aren't strickly a donut but my favorite! Also they have a chocolate Viking Donut (also comes in glazed) that is to die for.Just a HUGE raised donut with chocolate icing.
I try to stay away from that bakery........

It would be easier for me to list the kinds of donuts I don't like - jelly filled or covered in powdered sugar (but I would eat both of those in a pinch). I love donuts but I rarely eat them. With my son's peanut allergy, homemade donuts are pretty much the only option anymore anyway. I make them once or twice a year.

My Aunts homemade ones...but my favs are paulas lest..LOL I love jelly filled w/powdered sugar on top....stacy
