What's for dinner Tuesday?

Tonight we're having spaghetti and meatballs in vodka sauce with a baby spinach salad and garlic toast. Had meatballs in the freezer from the big batch I made earlier this month. What are you having tonight?

I finally ate a good meal today!
Though I am still feeling full from trip.

Downtown to Nikki's for their fried snapper fingers, spinach and hominy.

Sue, both your dinner and Norm's sound delicious. Hope you are staying warm. It seems the worst of the weather is over and the nation will get back to half-way decent temperatures. Pam, yes I can taste one speck of pepper in a dish. Normally, I love pepper. I can't remember whether it was the chemo or radiation that caused it, but I do know my taste buds are whacky now. Sure hope they go back to normal soon. Panera's broccoli/cheese is my fav! Raven, what can I say but "YUM". You are such a good cook! Laura, I'm surprised you are able to eat after Glenda fed you, but a little chicken stir-fry never hurt anyone :-) Shirley, I haven't tried the chipped beef. It looks like that polar vortex is on it's way out so we will all be happy to get out of the house come the weekend! Kittiemom, enjoy the pot pie! Jasdip, how nice of them to invite you to their Christmas celebration. I could eat my weight in baklava. It is just too delicious!!

That sounds so good, terri! Actually, everyone's supper (or lunch) sounds good. Robert asked for oven baked chicken pieces again. I basted the legs and thighs with a doctored BBQ sauce (added tobacco and apple vinegar) for the first half, then made a glaze out of that plus apricot preserves. It is sooooooo good! Sweet, sour, and spicy. Also made a batch of cheese biscuits and my cole slaw. He was a happy man! I'm always glad when he actually asks for something in particular....he helps with supper, by the way. He likes kitchen duty.

We went to the club tonight to finish up our minimum since we leave for Florida on Saturday. DH had a half-price hamburger since it's half price night tonight and my friend and I had a small Caesar salad and an appetizer of risotto and wild mushrooms. Just a perfect size dinner. It was beautiful here todayÃ¢ÂÂ¦in the 70's. Played my first 18 holes of golf since November. Shot 103 which is not great but I didn't expect much since I haven't had a club in my hand since early November and I didn't even get over early enough to hit some balls. The putting wasn't so great either and that's the best part of my game. Just a taste of the good weather to come.

Glenda, have fun with your boys! Chi83, I've seen a few soup recipes on Pinterest that used kale and beans. Nice combination---I could sub something else for the quinoa, I'm sure. Monica, yum! Bet your house smells so good. I imagine a lot of KT'ers will be looking for the key lime pie mix. Pam, you get more done in one day than 5 people! When I lived in IN I used to work the polls. It was nice when people brought us goodies since we couldn't leave the building from 5 a.m. until about 7 or 8 that night. I loved doing that! Shirley, after reading Pam's post I feel like I did nothing! Got more to do tomorrow. I'll be glad when tilapia tastes right again! Jasdip, I've read about those tomatoes too, but I thought they were really expensive. Glad you found out differently. I like Pomi brand tomatoes. They are imported from Italy and in a box like chicken broth comes in. The ingredient list is pretty short: tomatoes. :-) Mary, unfortunately I'm not finished with all the changes, but the list is getting short. :-) Grilled cheese sounds really good. Georgysmom, do you like your new closet? Was your DH surprised? Good luck at bridge!! Raven, hope that rain heads north instead of east. Spaghetti was always a winning dinner around here.

We had salmon patties. Canned salmon (don't hit me) mixed with either mashed potato or bread crumbs, spices, hot sauce, dijon mustard, minced onion. Browned in a skillet.
Oven potatoes, frozen corn and coleslaw.

A huge chef salad,

Romaine Lettuce, Red leaf lettuce, spinach and iceburg lettuce, green bell pepper, red bell pepper, cucumber, onion, tomato, sliced fresh mushrooms, boiled egg slices, ham and roast beef slices and chunks of aged sharp cheddar all toped with my own home made spicy ranch dressing.

BBQ ribs, some vegetable not sure what, leftover bread from a bakery and ? Not sure what else...oh, leftover cake from that same bakery. Going to Kroger right now to stock up on Greek yogurt and fill my gas tank up.

I fixed myself a smoked sausage sandwich and also had a banana. Not too hungry this evening. Had lunch today while out shopping at Chick Filay.

Lazypup, if you see this, would you post your homemade ranch dressing?

I've never made a homemade dressing, even though I keep threatening to!

You beat me to it, jasdip! We love spicy food in this house and I love ranch dressing, so this sounds yummy. Care to share, lazypup?

If you have never made a dressing it doesn't get much easier than this one and all my friends and family love it

SPICY RANCH DRESSING

1-1/2 cups Miracle Whip
1/2 cup of milk
1/4 cup vinegar (white or cider)
2 TBSP Yellow prepard mustard (could sub brown or dijon)
2TBSP sugar
I level Tsp course ground black pepper
1 tsp McCormack mixed Italian Spices
1/2tsp Garlic Powder
sometimes I add 1/4tsp powdered celery seed
Combine all the ingredients in an old mayonaise jar then close the lid tight and shake vigorously and chill. Shake thoroughly before putting on salad.
This is not only good on a salad, I like to put it on a baked potato too.

I'd been ill for a few days and really wanted soup... Had a head of cauliflower in the fridge so made homemade cheesy cream of cauliflower soup. Had never made it before and didn't have a recipe but it came out absolutely delicious.
