Place was packed, so had to wait longer than usual, but worth it. Sunday is their $5 rollups and I had mine in a wheat rollup.

They're still calling for rain, but it hasn't started yet. We need it too. The extremely high temps from last week have tapered off over the weekend. Much more comfortable weather now and for much of the week, till Friday when the high heat and humidity land in again.

I've still got some wild rice salad and some orzo leftover from last nite. I'm going to fry up some grillwurst sausages to go with it. Hubby can have the rest of the rhubarb cake.

I took it easy again tonight by having home fries, baked beans, and cottage cheese.

Still rain deprived here in my part of Ohio. My son mowed for me today....was the first time it really needed it in over 2 wks. The last two Junes, we had so much rain, it needed mowed every 5 days.

We have both been fighting a stomach bug, but we went to the farm market and got fresh tomatoes and cukes so I think maybe sandwiches with the tomatoes, I have spiral sliced ham and bacon to go with it.

Guess a lot of people eat out on Sundays, huh Glenda? What's inside the #38 wrap? You'll probably be getting some of the rain since they're predicting the storm will head west and land in Texas or Mississippi (at least, that was of this morning).

Jas, hope you get the rain you need. It sure is a welcome site here. I would think the forest fires have all fizzled out and those hard-working firemen can go home and rest. Have you posted your wild rice salad? I have some already cooked in the freezer I'd like to use.

Shirley, all the lawns around here really need mowed--if it'd stop raining long enough to dry out a little. I sure enjoy easy dinners--were your baked beans already baked? I like cottage cheese over tomatoes--or even better, with a little strawberry presrves over the top. Throwback from childhood.

Hope you and DH are feeling better, Raven. I don't know which is worse, being sick at the same time or first one, then the other. Hopefully, dinner will help that ole' bug go away!

Jan and the neighbor lady were outside all day finishing up a tag sale they started yesterday.

She walked in, sat down and asked me, "Have you given any thought to what we should have for supper tonight?"

I said, "Sure", as I handed her my debit card. "Why don't you jump in the car and go see if the Colonel wants to do the dishes tonight?", which of course is my way of saying go to KFC and get a bucket.....LOL

since we had a late bbq lunch for dgd's 10th bday, i just fixed us a small tuna sandwich to help dilute the overly sweet cake (guilty and ate it)...

Glad you enjoyed the salad, Patti. DH loves it and it's so easy. i"ll be making it soon. We had a buffet after the golf tournament. Don't know what DH ate but I had salad, chicken breast, some pork barbecue,l cole slaw and baked beans. I played with three guys today. It was a scramble so they didn't need me for drives today (they hit the ball so far). They did take my drive three times but mostly I didn't even bother hitting if they got off a good one. I just chipped and putted. I had some really good chips and most of the time I was the one to make the putt for a birdie or par. We came in sixth place....$35.00 each and I won closest to the line (2 1/2") for another $20.00. It was a fun day.

Georgysmom, our city is hosting the LPGA. It's the first time, and they are going to do it for another 3 years. It's a huge success and lots of people are watching the women.

A friend of ours went yesterday and he's an avid golfer. He said the women were better to see than the men. The men hit the ball so hard, with all their strength it seems. The women drove, with no apparent effort exerted. Huge drives. They were in the fairway, too not off to the side.
He was very impressed.

Not a very nutritious day here--but a busy one.

DD here at 7 to paint porch railing. So she was in time for breakfast--'make your own' crepes with assorted filling options. The cream cheese, strawberry jam and chocolate chips ones were AWESOME!

Then I got to work making a large tray of cookies for a neighbor who was having an open house (trying to sell their home)--5 different flavors--while she painted.

Lunch was grilled cheese and tomato sandwiches (and
leftover cookies)

DD and I made and addressed the invites for DH's retirement party, then she headed to a pool party

DBro and SIL showed up (right around dinner time--asked if they wanted to stay for pizza--they stayed, but didn't want pizza). By the time they left, it was getting late, so just made some hot dogs and home fries for our dinner.

Jas, the LPGA played here for years and then the sponsors pulled out. They're coming back this year. It's been my experience that most men would rather watch the women because they can relate to them more. I worked the tournament for years and generally speaking, the women are more appreciative of the volunteers than the men. The men can be real prima donnas.

Here in SD it is really dry too and the temps are supposed to be high all week. That means the harvest will be starting too.
