The ones that DIDN'T get away! (2 pics)

Every year DD's inlaws go up to "Lake of the Woods" for the week before Memorial Day.

This year DD Kayla caught the biggest fish they ever caught up there. So here are a couple of pictures of her and her catch!

The first is a walleye.

Oh what I would give for some fried walleye pike. We don't see it around here, but I remember eating it as often as I could when in MSP.

Isn't that something? You know, I've still got some putting up scapes and it got down to 30 last night....probably need to cut the scapes, but dang I hate to do that!! I checked them today, and they don't seem to be hurt at all. It's going back into the 70's here by the weekend. Guess I'll just let them be. Hey, maybe I'll have dl's blooming for Christmas!! First off, I'm so sorry you got sick. What a bummer for it to hit while you were off for some rest and relaxation time. At least you were able to look around a bit and enjoy being in such a neat town. Hope you will feel better soon. Bonnie, have you shown us your pretty dishes? You know we like to see them even when not in a tablescape. How about posting some pics of your treasures for us? As for that first job, maybe they treat employees this way too, so maybe this is for the best. Sounds like the right hand does not know what the left is doing. He's had success in his job huntm yay!. I'm so happy for your DS and for you as well because we mom's suffer when our kids suffer, don't we? Oh, happy day! He will do fine and will grow personally and professionally over time. Don't worry, Mom!

O.K. - so I shouldda offered it in January, before you'd thrown the old one out! And I think that the issue of "frugality" hardly enters the picture, for both the large calendars and the small ones are free, originally ... but after the first month or so of the year, they're no longer available. So if you didn't get one that you wanted, you have to buy one. I didn't get a small one last year, and have one from about 2010 on the desk, altered/updated as indicated. If such isn't your cup of tea - no one said that you might be under any obligation to follow the suggestion. I have a similar zinger to offer today. ole joyful

Walleye is what Minnesota is known for!

If I remember right DD said they put one back and ate the other, but don't quote me on that.

Correction: That is not the biggest fish ever caught up there ----- It is the biggest ever caught up there by their family.

Any way, I only know of fish from the frozen foods dept at the local grocery. DSIL was pretty proud of her catch.
