white shoe polish, shaving creme or ???

GS is having a double headed All-Star game, tomorrow, pssst he's pitcher, too.

I want to paint my car windows with his league and his name on my car. Just to let him know I'm proud of him and to say I have an All-Star in the familiy.

Everyone is doing it for their league.

So what to use that won't ruin my new car finish, and easy to remove.

Someone mentioned shaving creme, but it's so dang hot here, I'm afraid it might run.

Any suggestions?

Look at Walmart or Target for Glass paint pens, they come in all colors, look like markers.

Hi guys. I didn't mean to post and disappear the other day, but the girls have been sick and have been demanding much (all) of gammie's attention:( They are finally feeling a little better and went back to school and day care today, so now gammie has time to post. Today my pile got: lots of kleenexes empty kleenex box contents of kitchen scrap tub (onion tops/skins, bell pepper "innards", banana peels, orange peels, UCG, UTB) assorted junk mail, shredded inside liner from cat food bag plus bonus cat food "dust" Hopefully, we have some warm weather coming in the next few days and I can get out and give my stuff a little turn. I love the idea of using the hair conditioner for shaving legs. I need to try that one. My husband has used dryer sheets in his pockets when he is out camping and it does work to keep the mosquitoes away. Baby oil is great to remove the oil sludge from your skin that you sometimes get down at the beach (and most of us are avoiding many beaches along the Gulf for that very reason!) We found this out last summer when we were down by Corpus Christi and one of my boys had it on his legs. Brunettes - Use soy sauce as a rinse in your hair to enrich the natural color. Comb it through your hair and let it sit for a few minutes, then rinse. I need to add this list of helpful hints link to my favorites so I can pop back and refer to it later. I sliced my foot open a while back and I found using just plain old vegetable oil and then using a gallon zip bag. You have to first understand that your feet have NO oiling mechanism like the rest of your body.......they simply depend on sweat to moisturize. The worst thing you can do is go barefoot and take super hot showers!! I learned quite a bit about feet as we have had so many family members with diabetes and foot issues that coincide. Now I soak my feet in lemon juice and water for half an hour-warm water, then apply a coat of Flexitol Foot Balm, and I use the zip bags because you can zip it but it isn't strangling the leg and blood supply but it's enough to create plenty of moisture. This method has worked very well for me.

Lenore, who is installing the granite slab shower? Start there and make your priority be hiring a VERY experienced tile professional - one you have vetted carefully to insure that their qualifications meet your design requirements and product selections. Stone slab installations are not for the B team, and especially in a wet area. Can it be done? Yes, depending upon the structure over which a solid surface stone is installed and the methods used. We install solid surface shower walls regularly, but from an empty cavity which we build to meet all specific design and installation specifications, including the pan. A solid stone slab cannot be supported by the pan (it is not meant to support a slab wall). A slab wall is pinned and tied so it is self supported, not supported by a pan. This is a very complex installation. A LOT to consider. As one example, the thickness of your slab? 2cm. 3cm? (effects the weight load on the space). And I could go on. After you have carefully vetted the qualified tile contractor, have this conversation with them. If you question or want to clarify their recommendations, check back or seek professional advice from other qualified sources. Please consult with a professional onsite. Good luck with your project.

Shaving cream WIll damage the finish Glender...I dunno about the shoe polish..but I've used the window/chalk markers with great sucess. They probably have them in any color the team uses!

I had seen some 'markers' at Wal-Mart...I think they were around $3 each.

Glenda-I wouldn't use anything on the car! Especially in the heat.Wal-Mart has a paint that can be used on the windows.I would be very careful just asking for "glass paint" because there are several kinds of glass paint,some of which is permanent.They do make a special water based paint for painting on windows that washes off.It is in a sponge tip container like shoe polish.kind of like Tempra Paint(which might even work).I actually think shoe polish would be OK for your windows but would be very careful not to get in on the car's paint and careful washing it off.Read instructions first before you use anything on your car! I sure would hate for something to ruin your new car's paint job.

They are cheaper than that like Sandy said....I didn't buy a package of them, only 2 and they were cheap. Look at Walmart. Use only on the windows though, which is what you wanted to do right?

I saw glass markers at WalMart in the automotive ailse. Not sure how much they were though.

We do this every year for our kids during football season and it gets very hot here too. You can use the white shoe polish that has the sponge tip (on GLASS only) it's cheaper than the window markers. BUT with either, wash your windows when you get home. Try not to let it bake on for a couple days. It still comes off it is just a LOT harder. We have tinted window and have never had any damage.

He'll LOVE this if you do it. It makes those darn kids so happy when they see thing like this. My sons championship game is this Thursday night (He's the catcher). We just might have to break out the polish too!!!

In the sixties, I remember using "Glass Wax", a pink window cleaner, to decorate windows. I mixed food color in it and dabbed away on the windows. We had stencils and I used to decoratre my parents' front picture window for Christmas. Does Glass Wax still exist?

Any powdered tempura paint mixed with water can be used. That is what has been used to paint windows on holidays long before all the "special" markers came out.
