It looks like a wolf spider also known as a jumping spider.
They are non-venomous.....I have lots of them in the garden.

That's what I thought they were Carol. We had them in Indiana and once there was one on the porch and I was trying to shoo it away so I could get in the door. Mind you, spiders terrify me. This one reared up on it's back legs like it was challenging me. Well, it won. I went in through the garage!

I actually like that kind of spider, they're kind of cute and fuzzy and spring-loaded. :) I took 2 big spiders out today, threw them into the clematis,then I found where they were hiding out on the guest bath counter and one thing led to another and I ended up cleaning the whole bathroom. lol But boy, my glass-marble countertop is SPARKLING!

We have lots of them, I always call them Jumping spiders like Carol said.

I don't mind them unless they get big.. or they jump on me. I will catch them in a cup and put them outside if I can.

Wolf spiders also carry around their white egg sack on their back, and then the babies for a while. It's a neat sight to see them emerge and cling to Mama. Or is it Daddy? :-)

I hate spiders. Or did I mean fear? I know most are not poisonous,they are good for controlling insects, and they are more scared of me. Hope I never come across one like that. I thought it looked like a tarantula.

Comforting to know a bite from one won't kill me...still, I'm not much for uninvited company, so I'd prefer they leave! lol

Not wolf but a jumping spider, as as been mentioned. There are many different kinds, but all have similar body shape and habits. Jumping spiders are never very big.

Wolf spiders, on the other hand, can get to be quite big and will absolutely behave in a threatening manner.

EWE..Let them jump at your house,I dont want them.
