You've been missed Rita but it sounds like you've had quite a busy few months. How wonderful that you were able to spend so much time with your sister. And congratulations on the new addition to your homestead. You're going to be really busy now- as if your work schedule isn't full time as it is. Congratulations again.

that's awesome! don't envy you or sis the hard work to get it livable but sure hope it's used in good health...

so what is your dh going to do with "the land"? (that's what i always called my uncle's place) he raised steers, had a fantastic pecan orchard...

Lydia, yes---it's the part on the left that's been added on. It seems they added a room when they got indoor plumbing (*grin*) and added another room on later. The contractors had just added a master bathroom when we bought. The rooms are all in the midst of fix-up, with some having been primed, some half-painted, etc. But the workers weren't licensed, so we're having REAL contractors make sure the electrical and plumbing are fixed right.

Flamey, my dad is doing OK. My younger sis (Sherri---the one you've met) had moved in with my folks a few years ago, so she lives with him. She works full time, but he stays busy with their small acreage. It's been a tough 7-8 months for him since Mom died, as it has for all of us. I'm OK...as well as can be expected. More good days than bad, but every day is hard. Sherri's daughter got married over the weekend, and it was a bawl-fest. When Mom was in the hospital, we told her at one point that she needed to get well so she could be at the wedding. She told us, "I won't be at the wedding." *sniff* Seems she knew before we did...

Susan, DH has some cattle on leased land nearby, so it will be a place for him to put the bull when he doesn't want it socializing with the heifers (*grin*), or fatten out a steer, or who knows what. His "to do" list is so long now that he'll never get to the end of it, but I guess that's what life is all about, eh? LOL!

To everyone else, thanks for the waves and warm wishes. I really do miss coming here. A number of KTers are in such pain right now...I will pray for one and all. This place is never far from my thoughts.
