Luanne, did you, perchance, prune less this year, inspired by Gregg? I've been noticing that roses that were pruned very lightly or not at all are in full bloom. In the cemetery, and at home, I don't prune any of roses "hard," but those that got a moderate trim are still thinking about spring, whereas those that barely got shortened, if at all, are busily blooming. I've always thought that roses can either put their efforts into growing canes and leaves, or flowering, in the spring. We have examples of the same cultivar pruned two or three different ways in the cemetery, and there is no doubt that the more the roses were pruned, the less bloom they have right now. Common sense, right? But perhaps it had nothing to do with the pruning, and everything to do with the fact that they learned about the party and are just misbehaving. RUM PUNCH 2 large cans pineapple juice 1 large can frozen orange juice + 1 can water 1 small can frozen lemonade + 1 can water 1 small pkg. strawberry jello 1 cup hot water 1 quart gingerale 1 fifth light rum Dissolve jello in hot water. Add rest of ingredients. Chill thoroughly before serving. (I've used this recipe for years. Everyone wants the recipe.)

Oh, she hasn't been yet. Our other cat was a seasoned travellor when we adopted her, she's been down with us several times and loves it. Lex hates riding in the car, and has never been more than 2 miles from our front door (she was born about 2 miles away in one direction and her vet is about 1.5 miles in the other). I'm going to wait until we actually move, and take her down just the one time. Am truly dreading putting her through that. But will be sure there's plenty of her favorite treat on hand when we arrive!

Shirley! My amazing package arrived yesterday. Brian and I spent the day away from home, and checked the mailbox after we returned late last night. To my relief, your package and another was in there. I am starting to wonder if something drastic must be going on at our regional mail distribution center.... The prize contents are amazing!
