I was going to wait for his first birthday--only a few weeks away--to post more pictures of my grandson, but I love this one, which I took this morning while he was having breakfast, and had to share.

How can you not smile back? :-)

Oh Goody! That will be great fun! It's a date! I'll let you know when I come down. My daughter and her baby might come along, too. She isn't into gardening like Mumsie, but she likes to look and the zoo would be awesome too. Yes, I saw glimpses of some of the old plantations while there. I was thinking I looked at some homes in the Summerville area. Duh! Yes, Summerville...the Flower city! I love it in SC. Beautiful, beautiful. I love the sweet smell of the pines in the air. Mmmmm. Thanks for the post of the Gardens. Kate told me about them and we had intended to go, but she was too far along at that time. I think she told me that the Gardens are on one side of the river and the zoo is on the other. Is that right? I would love to go to the Farmer's Market too. She says it is awesome. ~Annie

i could robably send you a little package of plants. i have some hyacinth. that is all i have that you listed. but i could also put some umbrella palm, salvinia, maybe water snowflake - that looks like miniature water lillies.. i have a few things that you may like. then maybe you could throw some seeds of something my way for return? i don't know what i am looking for, or what i want, so i'd let you decide on that..lol... i live on the gulf in florida, so i am sure you would know what would grow in this sand and heat... let me know if you are interested. beth

Hi Debbie, "do house wrens have long little up lifted tails?" Yes. And long curved beaks with which they've been known to pierce eggs. We lost 1 BB egg last year to one, and you can find many other such stories in recent threads here. They will also drag young chicks out of the box sometimes. Your parent Bluebirds will likely be vigilant to chase him off. But anything you can do to discourage him from coming near their nestbox could help prevent a tragedy. Robins already! Nice. Spring will be around the corner for you. I haven't seen any here yet. We have 3 crab apple trees and a pear tree and I swear the birds love them. I think this time of year, they get drunk off the bad fruit. LOL

He's a sweetie! When is his birthday alisande? One of my grand-babies will be a year on July 24th, and the other on October 17th! Can't wait!

Jel, his birthday is July 6. He has a large family on his mother's side, and if the weather is good we'll be celebrating the next day in my backyard.
