I think the KT should change it's name to the Jon and Kate forum. This is the third thread about them on one page.

I don't think it's all that strange. It'd be silly for them to buy a second house huge enough for all 8 kids and Jon.

Moving the parents every couple of weeks make a heckuva lot more sense than moving 8 children.

Divorce is always disruptive and difficult, but keeping the children in their own, familiar home is probably the only way to go.

It is a different than usual arrangement, but I think it is the best under the circumstances. In fact I suggested in an earlier thread on J&K that I thought that is what they should do.

Better than moving 8 children around, changing schools, friends etc.

There is no perfect resolution to any divorce, where there are children involved.

Yes, I suppose this is the only solution with so many children. What a life they have ahead of them.

Children need stability and staying in the same house provides some of that. I have heard of other parents doing the same thing with just two children.

I think with Kate traveling so much, Jon can just move right in while she's gone...What I didn't understand, why is he looking for a place in N.Y., so far away....

I still can't understand why TLC or just the 2 of them didn't get counceling...That could have been a whole different reality show....

Just why is Kate travelling so much. What does she have to offer anyone now. I don't understand who would want to listen to her speak or read her book.

I must be out of touch with all this stuff.

I feel sorry for the kids, and I think this is the best idea personally. I don't watch it myself, but I really don't have to. I see enough on Entertainment Tonight, and on here to keep up with them.

Yahoo Entertainment News is reporting that the TFL channel has, temporarily at least, pulled the plug on filming.

Yep, just say that they don't have enough taped episodes to go on....Oh well, too bad....Certainly would be a shame if the 2 of them would have to get a job like "normal" people....

I even read a Debbie McCombus (sp?) book the other day...it wasn't a new one and it talked about that in her book...I think the concept has been around awhile.

But it requires keeping three homes going.

And if one of the parents doesn't keep a clean house it causes lots of "unhappy" moments....

Never watched the soap opera--too bad they cannot find a couple who really wants the kids and will be a real mom and dad and not play who gets the kids now and assume responsibility.

I have heard of this alot anymore that way the kids have a more stable enviroment and don't have so much change to handle with their parents already not together...Stacy

I think that should ALWAYS be the norm in a divorce situation. Leave the kids where they are, let the parents do all the shuffling back and forth.

My husband's niece and her husband have the same arrangement. They divorce a few months ago having three
chilren and not wanting to distrub their routine. I thought it was strange also. Must be something new now a days.

Does anyone think the kids would NOT have been messed up after all this, even if the parents had stayed together and continued to love each other?

These poor kids were doomed the day the parents decided to turn their home and life into a media circus. The sad thing about this whole situation is that these parents have apparently put publicity, money and fame above their children's well-being for many years. And they justify it by constantly saying they are doing it 'for' the kids. That's just ridiculous--those kids would be better off having 2 loving parents who were focused on them, rather than 2 who wanted to turn their home into a fishbowl.

I took that to not be literal. I think the house was bought by the parents, but Jon & Kate will take turns living there so the kids can stay put.

The house is huge, so I'm sure each parent will have their own room/suite.

I think it is a good arrangement.Why disrupt the children's lives any more than they already are by switching them from his place to hers all the time.They did say they bought the house for the kids and that is where the kids will stay.What would be much different than it is now with Kate (and sometimes Jon) away on trips or whatever? One of them is always there with the kids when the other is away.And why would he not be looking for an apartment?
Where is he going to live when it's not his time with the kids,in his car? I think they are trying their best to keep things as normal as possible,under the circumstances,for the kids and I admire that.
irishdancersmom-Actually they both did have jobs,even for a while after the show started so I'm sure it wouldn't be totally unheard of for that to happen again if the need should arise.I doubt however that either will have to with the money they have made on this show.That is if they have invested wisely.And it was Kate that worked several weekends a month to supplement the income so that Jon could be home with the kids more.
I'm sorry but I really think they have done and are doing "for the kids" I think they both love their kids very much and like any parent want the best for them.I think they both realize that maybe the way they have gone about providing the best may not have been what was best.I know that we have ALL made mistakes,done things that didn't turn out the way we expected,to provide for our kids so let's cut them some slack?? I know these kids will suffer some repercussions from this,what kid doesn't have a few problems after a divorce? But I think Jon and Kate are doing everything they can to keep that from happening.

It amazes me that so many people who have never seen the show can pass their own judgment on Jon and Kate. They listen to the tabloid shows and decide what they think.

That's like me thinking the National Enquirer has all their facts right.

What strikes me as strange is all the talk on tv about Jon and Kate and how awful they are for putting the kids in front of the camera, when the TV personalities, in front of the camera are the dip sh*t's making all the made up and mean comments. They are stoking the fire so to speak. I don't know how these idiot's can sleep at night making up things about everyone they can think of. The lies people hear daily and BELIEVE makes me angry. Guess it wouldn't be the American way if the Gossliens had a show and the newscrackers left them alone.
I may not know the true story behind the story but I bet a great deal of the time I know when the so called TV newscrackers are pulling one on me. Don't you just feel it??! The more lies, the more intense the story the more people eat it up. I couldn't live with a job like that..
Even if Jon and Kate are screwing up their marriage, the way the tabloid shows whine and lie, the morality and integrity of the these jerks, makes me want to throw my tv away. If the tables were turned and Jon and Kate started telling lies about the celeb newscrackers, there would be helk to pay. It's all a one way street because the talk shows know they have the power to retaliate.

Even on the kt Jon and Kate threads, made up so called facts are the norm. For example,,Kate doesn't ever do anything with her kids. If you watch the show, she is most likely the instigator of the things the kids do. And she is doing it with them because they are the kids and there are eight of them!
I can see some people being jealous of all the things Jon and Kate and the kids get for free but I see that on every show. These people get publicity for their products being on the show. Can you imagine, give some curvy houses to the show and wala, 30 thousand calls wanting to know more about them! Do you really think they are doing this out of the goodness of their widdle business hearts? Kate did say they were donated too. And she thanked them!
Kate really blew it with Jon. She should be strong for the kids but she can't be telling him how he should be all the time. If they could have found a way to have more time together alone, walking a beach, just enjoying each other, the out come might be completely different. I really don't know though..(Like Jon said about 40 times last night.)

I have watched that show one and one half time.
I so wish I had that hour and a half or my life back.......

I once knew a couple that did this. They had a house where the kids lived and an apartment. The parents rotated between the house and the apartment. Makes a lot of sense to me.

My daughter has a friend Ashley whose parents are divorced but the three of them all live in the same house.

I don't watch the show and STILL have had enough of their BS staring out at me from the tabloids in the grocery store, tv commercials, threads on forums, etc.

They put themselves OUT there to be criticized when they signed on the dotted line for the love of a buck. I could care less what happens to them or their kids! It's not like they've invented children or childhood or anything like that.

Maybe after Jon get's his "new chapter" of his life behind him, they may reconsider their relationship.
They have only filed for a split, rather than a divorce, so they still have time to get their lives settled and give things a new perspective.
I don't know if the show should continue, but if it does not, I hope that enough money has been saved to keep things rolling in the home.

Not unusual now a days, but sad non the less.

I don't watch the show so can't really comment on the dynamics of the marriage other than to say I wish them luck. As to the arrangement of mom and dad moving in and out of the house while the children remain there....BRAVO! Great option that truly puts the kids and their needs first.

Lori, I'm glad I didn't waste one minute of my life watching it. It's just doesn't sound like my type of entertainment. LOL
