This woman needs to get a life

At my apartment building. I'm so tired of finding her petty little notes plastered all over the place.

There's one this morning chastising someone for parking in front of the neighbor's house next door. HELLO! It's a (busy) city friggin' street, right downtown. You park wherever you can find a spot when you pull up.

I used to park my T-Bird on the street. It was hit and run twice in front of my building. When I got my new car, I started parking it in the back apt parking lot. The very first night I got it, I looked at the window and there has a huge note on my windshield. I went out to get the note, and there were almost identical notes posted on the community bulletin board, front door AND back door, threatening to have my car towed for parking in HER spot. We DO NOT have assigned parking spaces. There are 9 spaces and 11 apartments, first come, first serve.

I guess she's driving the landlord crazy with long lists of complaints every time she sees him too. Maintenance man said one of them was three pages long. Wonder how many of them were about me? I put goofy responses under all her goofy notes. This morning it was "Um, last time I checked, it was NOT illegal to park on a city street" and I pinned a copy of the Idaho Statute under it. *laughing*

She must have too much time on her hands. I would think she tries to "bully" people into doing what she wants. Crazy ol' bat. Sorry you have to contend with that.

Hello, Al. We had some electrical stuff going on here and my power conditioner was going nuts. Today I had to chkdsk my drives and just got back online. I'm not sure yet what it takes to get started. No idea how much of anything I need, though I know I'm not ready to make large quantities yet. I would be mixing in small amounts since I would need to use a container that fit on my rather small table in the garage. If I only need three ingredients, I suppose I could talk my husband into storing three large bags, though I'm not sure what large means since fifty pounds of a lightweight material would be a lot larger bag than fifty pounds of stone. Would the T67 Soil Sieves at $17.97 be sufficient? They don't seem like they would be heavy. Someone mentioned esj collanders. If that's like the one I drain pasta or greens in, it sounds managable. I'm thinking a dishpan to mix the ingredients would be easier than something larger. Mid May seems so close! I know you say it wouldn't be a hardship to come early, but it feels like it would be such an imposition. At the same time it sounds so promising. I could check with my daughter (who has offered to help me) and see if she could be here to work with us and keep my brain less scattered. Since the fibro has gotten worse I get overwhelmed easily. Frustrating because I used to be easy going. I would need to get started now to have things here that we need, especially if I have to order them. Would you give me a better idea of what I would need to have ready and set up? Meantime, I'll check with Mary (my daughter) and see if she would be free on the 13th. Please, if anything comes up that makes it inconvenient, don't hesitate to let me know! Just a side note. One or two of the plants I bought seems to be planted in some kind of bark. The water just runs down the side of the pot and doesn't absorb at all. Is this a danger with bark or did they use the wrong kind/not enough other things mixed in. I don't usually let plants sit in water, but it seems the only way these can get a drink. I don't mind watering often; in fact it would be better because I would be less apt to forget if it was a more regular routine. Reminds me, I need to have pots also. So much to think about. Will wait to hear from you. I don't manage to get online every day but will try and check often. Bless you so much for your willingness to help, Al. Peggy

Thanks for all of the advice (support). You know, when I originally posted this, I thought I was going to be reamed as "selfish" and trying to isolate my wife from her own daughter. (mostly, because that is what I get from my own wife if I try to bring up the subject). Unless I tread very lightly, I get a backlash. My wife seems to have to talk with her daughter at least by cell phone every SINGLE day. For example, when we got back from a dinner, she immediately got on the phone. I asked if she was calling her daughter. She looked at me and said, "Yes, do you have a problem with that?" (in a not very pleasant tone). I know that if I push, I know who the winners will be. If I make my wife choose between me or her family - I know I will be left out in the cold. I don't want it to come to that point, b/c it is a lose-lose situation. But I am getting tired of my wife putting first her own adult child, then her family, then her job, and then, finally, me. By the time she gets to me - there's not much left. I can't change her priorities, I know that. But I continue to try, try to treat her like I would like to be treated, hoping, that things would turn around. Trying to be the good, supportive husband. Give her freedom. But things with her daughter seem to be getting more and more co-dependent. The 3 times a week visits are becoming a routine. She even puts off things that need to be done around the home until she is not with her daughter - so she's usually busy when we finally have alone time. And don't get me wrong, I'm not into my wife has to be a maid... but I can only do so much by myself with my work schedule... For example, instead of doing laundry every Wednesday like she used to do when her SD was away at school, now she runs around town with her daughter all day Wednesday. Now, she does the laundry Sunday morning before her daughter comes over - which is basically our only possible quality time together. This is why I need so desperately for her daughter to "get a life" of her own without needed to breast feed so often.

are you replacing the tub tile at all? or just the scroll piece? another idea is to take the same quartz countertop and have the top portion of your tub surround done in the same. that way both vanities and top of tub all match. doing a solid color would work better here since you'll want to coordinate w/the tile floor. If you did that, take the tile off the wall above the tub and you could do something like this If keeping that tile on the top of tub, then it might be an issue. you may just want to keep the scroll piece under the window. that's up to you. all depends how far you want to go. if you remove the scroll, you could do a little wood shelf across, below the window, for plants or orchids. as for the mirrors w/the lights in them, they're all over. just google 'vanity mirrors w/lights', or vanity mirrors w/medicine cab" . they are a bit pricey though. 600 and up for the very nice ones. Robern medicine cabinets are a well known name. if you want a taller medicine cab on the side, you will have to have the recessed portion of the wall made taller. as for the tiling portion, yes, just the front wall,,,you would paint on the side portion. I really like this look for your room. you don't have to do MOP tile, it was just a suggestion. there are tons of beautiful tiles you could use. If you did more of an ivory or subtle countertop that plays well w/your tile floor, then you could have more options to play w/some tile. The sconces pictured here are also nice, but there are many other types you could use as well. Don't want to bother w/sconces? then ditch your mirror and buy a backlit, or complete edge lit mirror like this one. you could still do your tiling like shown here. These are also very flattering. this countertop is limestone, below, and is more of a neutral, greige color. i would keep your ceiling dark, like you have it,,maybe do the walls a lighter shade...all depends what you pick for the vanity and tile. Having the mirror cut down isn't expensive. hopefully they can get it off the wall w/o breaking it. doing the tile around the mirror defines that area and gives it so much more appeal.

angelaid,I agree she needs to get a life other than minding other people's business.So sad you and other have to put up with this.I know a friend that does the same thing.She lives in what they call the Housing Project.She calls the office ever day telling on someone.She calls me ever day or ever other day telling me what she did that day,who she reported that day.Her poor neighbors is the one I feel for.I want so bad to tell her if she would try to be a friend than she would feel so much better and I bet they would too.So sad she lives like this.Greg calls her nosey because always minding other people's business.Life is too short to live like this.What is so sad,most of her neighbors are color folks and they have to put up with this.When I say its sad what I mean,she throws off on them and she seems to hate them and I tell her they have just as much right to live there as she and her 26 year old son.They do not work[my friend that is>They say they draw disabity checks from being mental.That is what she said.looks like if she is able to keep a check book,and other things she could work.She has never had surgery she said she just filed for disablity for both of them being mental.Everone to their own.Just my thought.She drives and ever thing.She signs up for ever charity getting someone to pay her power bill and all.Maybe I am wrong.I am not throwing off on her for being on disablity just saying I can not understand how she can draw off being mental and still able to read,write,keep house,drive,and do her checkbook.Between her son and her they draw way over 1000.00 a month.I know I got off the subject,But I had this on my mind as I was posting about people minding other people's business.Some will agree and not agree.Just MY thought.

I hear you....we have lived in this APT bldg. foe about 4 1/2 yrs, and just the last year and a half, things have gone crazy around here. There a a couple who feel like they have to snitch to 'the board' about real and or imagined events. I guess the one that made me shake my head is one guy down stairs reported that this other neighbor was drinking like a fish because he had bags of empty beer cans in his car. First of all the guy with the cans, collects them to make a little extra money, but what made me shake my head is, the guy who did the tattling, was found passed out in the back yard, twice, because he was too drunk to make it all the way inside. Bwaaaaa!!! I want, so badly, to live in my own home again. Dottie

If it were me, I'd go around after her and remove all the notes and stick them to her car/or front door.

I really feel sorry for her- she is mentally ill- and maybe could be treated with today's medications. I hope you and your neighbors can try to think about how sad her life must be- maybe giving her some attention will help....
I am sure it is challanging to know that every time you go out there will be that little sticky note- but in the long scheme of things it is just a little 'PITA"! Give her some good attention!

She's not mentally ill. She's just a busybody.
I feel bad for Rafael. He does the yard work at our building. Every time he comes over, she comes out with a new list of things she wants him to do. He only gets paid for what the *landlord* tells him to do, but sometimes he does them anyway, just to get her off his back.
I have noticed lately though, that he mysteriously shows up right after her car leaves the parking lot. LOL

Cudos to Rafael!! The man has learned.....I am sorry you have to put up with that....I cannot say enough about living in the country! Yes it has it's draw backs takes 15 mins to get to the grocery, etc....but don't have to contend with that! Stacy
