Growing up we would sit with my dad on our front porch and watch lightning storms. Of course, NOT when it was right on top of us!

I love watching the storms

That is one of my most favorite things to do. I'll stay outside until the last possible moment and watch a storm come in. The power of nature is awesome.

Over 30 years ago, my then-husband and I lived on a hill, across the street from a power sub-station. I dearly loved to turn out all the lights and just watch the lightning hit those tall poles. It was an awesome show!

We rarely get lightning and thunderstorms here in Vegas. But when we do, I love to watch them. I would love to be able to catch them in photos.

Love to watch the lightening but still have a heck of a problem catching an image. This storm is moving in now and is very active with lightening.

Love to! Like to sit on the porch and watch, until the rain and wind send me inside.

Can't see much with all the trees in our neighborhood, but I love to be on the highway and watch it off in the distance (as a passenger, not the driver. :-).

I love storms, I don't admit that to often. So many people look at it negatively like I want to see people get hurt. I find them exciting.

Used to do a lot of photography of storms. Especially enjoyed doing it at night it's so easy. Put the camera on a tripod, long exposure and catch 2, 3, 4 or more bolts. Looks impressive.

That is cool to do Cynic. Those are some awesome pics when you can get them. I am starting to explore settings beyond "auto" on my camera - it sure is fun!

Our house took a direct strike a few years ago. It was a clear day too! Ever since - I am a little more leary of being out in it. We have had a couple hits on the power pole that is about 40 yards from the house, and the barn across the road was hit a couple years ago.

Shoot no, I don't. I'm surprised I don't head for the closet at the first "boom".

I love to hear the thunder and see the lightning. It is just so majestic.

Some friends don't understand that, but I will watch from the porch, until I have to go in; then watch from the windows.

Love to turn out the lights at night and watch the lightning. We don't have much lightning here, but when I grew up in central Illinois, we had lots and I loved watching the show.

I agree with Susan, I love storms if I'm home safe in my bed.

I love to watch if I'm inside. If I'm outside it freaks me out a bit! I was at an outdoor concert about 10 years ago and a girl was struck by lightning. I'll NEVER forget that sound-it was soo loud! Much louder then gunfire or a car backfiring etc. We didn't know what the sound was at the time. P.S. Luckily the girl survived.

I love to watch them from inside the house with the door open. I will not get out of bed to watch them.

I do like watching it, of course there are two dogs wrapped around my ankles during storms.

I like to count the seconds in between lightning and thunder.

My old House had a Sky Light in the Bedroom. I could lay on my bed and watch the storm overhead. Cool!

I love to watch storms as long as they aren't too awfully close. Then I head inside and watch from the living room window.

Yes, I like to watch, especially at night when they are the most visable.

i love storms and being in the lightning capitol along the I-4 corridor of orlando, we see more lightning than anywhere in this country. i do unfortunately have a dog that stresses out about storms thou and every few weeks our power does go out for several hrs from our daily pounding storms from may-nov. i have been standing at the kitchen window when my neighbors backyard trees were hit, that was a bit startling. i can't tell you how many electronic things we've lost to lightning damage thru phone lines, cable and once a direct hit to our fence that was anchored to the house via screws. i do still like watching it thou(from inside only!), we get such huge bolts and many w/ massive branching patterns. thurs. i was driving home from work sitting at a red light when 4 bolts struck all at the same time in front of me :-) of course all that lightning caused traffic signals to go out in an area w/ 6 lanes of traffic in ea direction LOL plus 2 trees atleast 30' tall also came down in the roadways along my 8 mi drive home....regular events here in rain season.

we just had our late afternoon storms roll thru and per hour cloud to ground srikes were over 2400. not an extreme amount for us but nowhere else even sees that in a single day. there rarely is a day that goes by in rain season, w/o a house being struck and most often burns to the ground. about once a month someone is struck by lightning here in central FL. a rare strike on a car happened last fri along merrit island. i love lightning but from inside and safe only! ~ liz

Love to watch storms. Turn the lights out and just watch
as the rooms light up.

We had a doozy this evening. I unplugged my computer from the outlet and cable and unplugged one of the big screen TVs. Here I am on the PC and it's coming again. So goodbye for today.

I love storms and wind,as long as there is no harm done. Nature sure can put on an awesome performance!!!
