I centered mine, but I wish now I had put it on one side, as I have a grill and a griddle in the middle of my stove and the spout does not quite reach a pan on either front burner on the 48inch wolf.

The height is fine with the spout 14 inches above the counter.

Sorry you're having regrets about pot filler placement. Can you change it, or would that involve ripping out the backsplash?

I'm deciding where to place mine now. Based on tons of inspiration photos, either way is perfectly acceptable, but I'd say about 2/3 of the inspiration photos has the pot filler i an offset position.

I'm wondering if this is for functional reasons, or more often an aesthetic preference.

I've decided to place mine offset. It will be the only piece of visual interest against a large marble slab backsplash, so I thought it would look less stark/more visually interesting in the offset position (for my application).

Thank you for your responses. I am hoping to use mine to fill my canner during canning season, but from your responses that seems to be too high for everyday use. I will have a 36" stove with 5 burners so if I center it may not reach the center burner either. I appreciate your input.

Madeline - thanks for your concern. I just have to slide my pot back a bit to fill it, so it is not terribly inconvenient. I cooked a big pot of soup yesterday, and it was still nice to have it right there.

Keep in mind that if you center the plumbing, your faucet will fold to one side or the other. If you want the faucet itself to fold to look centered, then you need to offset the plumbing.

I don't remember exactly what the issue was but my neighbor ordered one on the internet and didn't think about clearance. Maybe because it was mounted in the middle, and the first section was too long to lie flat against the wall? (It had an elbow in it). Just saying, measure your space and the length of your pot filler to make sure it will fit in your space.

Mine is mounted dead-center for functional reasons. I have a 48" range with four burners on the left, a grill and two burners on the right. So I bought a Chicago Faucets potfiller that can reach every burner on the range. When folded it's either left or right of center.

Height-wise, I took the form-over-function approach and mounted it so that the straight arm of the faucet is in line with the cabinet bottoms at about 18" off the counter. In hindsight, I probably should have stuck with function and lowered the spout another couple of inches. I have a bit of splashing if I turn it on full too quickly. But I've learned to start slow before turning it up.

jscout - Thanks again! LOVE your CC!!! What a beauty! I have to say I agree with your "form" approach and like the looks visually with it in line with the bottom of the uppers. I still have not made my decision, but the filler will be delvered this week so that decision is coming soon.

I measured my tallest pot and added a few inches. I also searched for a pot filler that could reach to all burners on my 48" range that fit the style of my kitchen. I went with a Rohls. Remember - it doesn't have to actually make it to the center but just inside the pot. Here's a picture from my unfinished kitchen
