Color undertone: Elkay's "Divinity" in Medallion & Schuler
Comments (7)I do have a small paint sample of both, maria. When I put them during the day time near a moderate sun window on separate white Hammerhill copy paper (super bright) it reads as follows: white icing: neutral white- no clear evidence of gray/blue undertones nor yellow. Richer white than superbright. Placed against my BM Dove White Trim its a little whiter. divinity: creamier off white. slight yellow undertone (particularly noticed in fluorescent light). Placed against my Dove White trim, it's noticably creamy off white. For what it's worth, I placed my cabinet order in White Icing today, with families blessing. THe color opens up greater paint color and counter top choice imho. Good luck....See More* Trim color to match white icing cabinets
Comments (4)I used the Design Craft cabinet -- another Elkay company. The whitish colors are mostly the same in all their lines. My trim was already painted BM White Chocolate before I chose the cabinet color. I brought the cabinet color samples home and had a lot of trouble deciding. One person on this board (sorry, can't remember who) suggested that it would be better to have a color difference between the moldings on the doors, etc and the cabinet bodies. I agreed that "close but a miss" would have been bad. II ended up with white chocolate cabinets at the last minute after having planned on Divinity for a couple of months. Divinity is a very nice color.. The BM White Chocolate is not the same as the Elkay white chocolate (Elkay is deeper, more like almond or bisque). I did use the cabinet color on the cabinet trim piece at the top. I think you have to get some big BM samples and try them out in the room. I like having the kitchen trim the same color as the trim in the rest of the house. It does not match the cabinets, but it blends. Good luck and keep us posted....See MoreWhite vs. creamy white
Comments (3)I have Medallion Brookville cabinets in Divinity. I am VERY glad I choose Divinity. It is a soft white, rather than a creamy yellow tone white. I'm not familiar with White Icing, but if that is a bright white, and what you want, than you might want to pick that. I have Kasmir Gold granite counters. My ceiling is painted BM Dove White. The wall next to my pantry is also painted BM Dove White. Whatever you pick, it will be fine! I love my Medallion cabinets. I know what a big decision this is. Good Luck! Comments (96)We installed (ourselves) shaker inset white Conestoga RTA cabinets from & worked with Cabinet Joint to order. Would I do it again?... not sure. It was a lot of work & since RTA and factory painted, you have to plan everything super careful to account for seams, joins, etc. No t sure I would do insets again as those shows any misalignment unlike overlaps which can hide door alignment issues. The cabinets are very high quality wood and construction for the price BUT factory (white) is beginning to show yellowing around stove and garbage bin door where you touch it, etc - in other words, hard to keep factory finish looking great for long if you use your kitchen like we do. So we saved a ton of money over semi custom or custom but it was a lot of work to build, install, rewire, etc. Took me months of working by myself to do it and probably could have done a bit better job. There are some limits as to what you can do RTA but I found out after the fact, I probably could have done a bit more custom orders on a few cabs with Conestoga but I went with a more standard size which left a couple cabinets not exactly custom looking but fine (like a gap between frig and upper cab is not a exact fit but show a gap of 2-3 inches (I would have preferred it to be a built in, custom made look but nobody really notices its a nitpick. I am think they will need to be repainted after 10-12 years (white shows alot). Out painter does repaints of old cabinets and uses a specific euro product to do so . Never realized how many necessary steps there are to do a cabinet repaint correctly but here is a video (he has q couple which discuss the product and steps). https://www.facebook.com/toddthepaintr/videos/195740918684028...See Morejoan2121
