They asked me months ago if they could use my photos, but I had forgotten about it. Pretty cool.

No no no. It is YOUR kitchen/backsplash which is pretty cool not to mention NEW, FRESH, and outright GORGEOUS. Love seeing the new picture :) please keep posting from any and all angles!

Pretty cool! And with permission too :-). I bet they were thrilled to be able to use those pics, it's a great use of the tile, and the kitchen is a normal kitchen, not an over the top space people would have trouble imagining in their home.

Gray flooring is very trendy - which means it will become the dreaded "dated". While light gray as a neutral will always be useful, the extreme over use of gray will turn on itself - just as over use of oak did. If this was a cheap laminate gray floor with a limited lifespan - no big deal (except the waste in the landfill) but you had better love this expensive floor 10 years from now when the HGTV crowd will say "yuck - look at all that gray" - just like they say "Yuck, look at all that oak" now. If you will love it, go ahead. I have my oak kitchen which I like just fine. However, a natural wood floor will add color and will go with just about any style thrown at it. It is best if one applies the trendy colors to easily changed surfaces - like paint for walls, decor, curtains, upholstery and even a backsplash if it is not a huge expense. Listen to SJ - she is a flooring expert. The gray, gray rooms just looked washed out - especially when all the new design pics I am seeing are showing color.

Well you can, but if the paint police find out, I’ll disavow any knowledge of it ;-) You’re not really looking for a “brighter white,” you’re looking for a tile and paint combination with similar undertones. White Dove is a yellow white. If the tile you love makes this apparent, try a white with cooler undertones. Chantilly Lace is beautiful, and much cooler than the White Dove. In Edge, clicking on three dots at upper right of screen or Alt-X sequence brings up the menu. Click on Settings, General, then scroll down, you come upon options for downloads. Where to save, and whether to have a pop-up ask what to do with a triggered download. I've long found it useful and easiest to create a first tier folder called C:\Download folder. That way, I can quickly get to anything that's been downloaded without having to click, click, click through unneeded layers with obscure names in the folder tree to get to what I want. Additionally, with Alt-X or the three dot entry method, another selection is Downloads. Click on that and you can see downloaded file history, open a downloaded file, examine the folder it is in through WIndows Explorer, etc.

I am definitely a no shoes household. Does that really make a difference between a 3 and 4 PEI? This is definitely not an area I am familiar with even with the research I've done.

Very pretty! I haven't seen tile like that before - the more traditional floral cut into long tiles. Only modern/glass or ceramic strips. Nice job!

Love it. That's great!

And, as a professional photographer, I have to say, it's not "kind of them to ask first" - they need to receive permission from the person that created the photo in order to use it. In the US, the person who creates the image is the copyright holder...it is illegal AND they can be sued if they use photos that are not created by them and they have not received the permission of the person who took the photo. So, assuming that you took the photo, they absolutely had to ask for permission to use it from you in order to use it legally on their website.

Thank you everyone. I actually thought it was pretty cool. We have been living in the kitchen for a few (crazy) months now, and I'm still very happy with my choice. Strange that now that I have a great and functional kitchen, I'm still not cooking like I had imagined I would. My oldest daughter moved back home and currently has a suspended license and two jobs. My other 4 kids are all in sports, music, etc. I spend the dinner-cooking hours in the car and have relied on quick meals. Oh yeah, and my 15 year old has decided she doesn't like ANYTHING. Kind of takes the joy out of cooking. But when the kids are gone, hubby and I will have a nice place to cook.
