I do like your counter choice, but, obviously, the white will be a contrast, and maybe a little cold on the warm colors to add to that contrast...But you've been planning this all along, so must have been liking that vision? What I would like and what you would like can be different without either one being wrong...So I think it's going to be hard for someone else to advise you in a way that's any better than you're own gut. The best way to judge would be for us to see the 3 materials (cabinets, counter, and tile) all together. Do you have samples you can photograph in the room? I am actually liking the idea of the counter more than the idea of the tile, but maybe I'm imagining the tile incorrectly.

I'm SO glad your cabinet problems are going to turn out well. Then you can gaze at your cabinets and know everything is how you asked and remember the positive way it was handled, not the stress.

The white quartz countertops will be beautiful with your cabinets! I have two friends with espresso stained cabinets and white zodiaq countertops and their kitchens are gorgeous.

I was saying how I'm not too happy with how white my countertop looks with my cherry cabs. It's pretty stark. when I held up the counter sample with a floor tile and cabinet door, it looked great together. But I have soooo much counter, and now that it's in it just looks too stark. Hopefully when I change my lightbulbs out I'll like it better. But I do agree that very dark cherry can look great with white. But you may want to try a creamier color too.

Like rhome said, it is your vision. That being said, I really like the "cloud white". It is very pretty. What might help you is to bring home several samples of the zodiac in the lighter colors, creme to white, and see what you think in your kitchen, with your cabinets and your lighting. The white will be starker and the cremes will be a softer contrasting look.

I am posting some pics of the counter/backsplash samples on the other thread, but here's one anyway (can't resist).

Tile size on left (11/2 x 1/2) is the shape, but the squares on the right show the tile color. It does look different on the card here than it did on the sample board in the showroom. I liked the sample board a lot better.

Here's a picture from sonoma tilemakers' website. It's the same tile, in a 1/2 x 1/2 - color is jade. The color I chose is called minka. This just shows the reflectiveness of it.

It's got more grays/taupes/blues in it. What do you think? Be HONEST, please.

PS Floors are natural oak, kitchen is galley style. The pictures below were taken from the same location.

I love that Sonoma tile! I think it will be gorgeous and stunning. Seeing the samples together helps alot. Are you excited about it? Trust yourself.

Your sample is similar to our Silestone counter we had on our old oak cabinets. It's quite a bright counter, especially on a long expanse.

Doesn't the Minka also have some streaks of warmer brown that will connect with the cabinet color? If so, I worry about the white being too cold and white-white, overall. Considering your description of the tile colors, have you thought about more of a gray? It would still be light, but the contrast would be softer. I would go for a warm type of gray, rather than cold and bluish, but that's me. I think you could probably do either with the tile.

Rhome410 - Yes, the Minka does have some warmer brown streaks in it. I did hold the counter sample against the sample board at the tile store...I think I need to go back and do that again.

Socalusa - THanks for posting the picture. It helps me visualize.

If anyone else has any pictures of light colored counters, I would love to see them.
