Does anyone have white windows/trim AND stained interior doors?
Comments (21)nepool, I love the picture in your first post. That door is beautiful and it looks so nice with the wood floor and the whole room. Are cased windows something a lot of people do? We have never had cased windows. Of course we have a window sill but not cased. Maybe it's a regional thing. Since you have stained trim maybe you can answer a questions for me. I am concerned that if I do all stained that it will limit paint choices in the future. My house has all white except the kitchen cabinets. I remember when we painted the kitchen having to find a color that went with the cabinet color (some stains have more red or yellow in them). My sister has stained trim and doors (in her words, ugly stained trim) and when she painted a room and didn't think about the trim and the dark blue doesn't look like she had expected next to the dark trim. I have a dark blue room with white trim and the contrast is striking. We don't even have a floor plan yet and these details are driving me crazy....See MoreStained windows with White Trim...and doors?

Comments (2)We've been going through this debate just this past week. Originally we were going to do stain grade for the entire house but then our builder told us about a house he went to that did paint grade trim but with an antique finish. We need to save some money too (who doesn't?) The pics below (of the house my builder visited) have stain grade doors but I'm thinking we may do the paint grade doors also (but with the antique glaze). The first may may give you an idea of look of the painted doors (although its really a wall) with the stained trim above it....See MoreRecommendations for trim & door paint & stain
Comments (3)I am a steadfast fan of Cabinet Coat for trim, doors and cabinets since I discovered it a few years back. I won't use anything else. The white is bright, clean, and 'true' so it goes with virtually all paint colors. It's self-leveling, dries to a nice subtle sheen, doesn't nick as readily as latex, and fingerprints, etc. wipe right off with a damp cloth. First used it on rental property cabinets, which tend to get higher than average wear, and it's held up like a workhorse. People are probably getting sick of seeing it, but here's a new door/trim I did in CC (that's an eggshell paint on the wall, so you can see it has some sheen but not glaring):...See Morelisa9774
