Faucet question - Danze Parma Pre rinse

Went faucet shopping yesterday and while I was looking at Price Pfister Hanover, my DH spied the Danze Parma pre rinse. I was surprised that he liked the look of it as I had previously ruled out the pre rinse faucets thinking he would not like them. Please tell me how you like your Danze pre rinse or if you have suggestions for other brands. Thanks.

I have the Danze Parma pre rinse faucet. I like it both in terms of its appearance and function. My only gripe is that it is somewhat rigid and does not extend like other pulldown faucets (I used to have a Grohe laxylux cafe in my previous kitchen).

We are seriously considering this faucet. If mounted in the middle of a 33" wide sink, will the spout reach to the counter on either side? To explain, I would like to set a pot on the counter next to the sink and be able to fill it. What do you think. Thanks for your help.

vwhippiechick - how deep is your sink? We're planning on ordering the Elkay Arezzo pre-rinse faucet (pretty much the same height as the Parma) and a 9 1/2" deep Ticor sink and don't want to have a splash problem. I haven't ordered either yet. Thanks.

I assume pre-rinse comes from the stage in commercial dishwashing where you rinse off all the food before running it through the huge sterilizer. It requires a nice strong spray to jet everything off the plates. I was thinking to get one that extends beyond the sink because this is for my prep sink which is in my main prep area not far from the cookstove, and it could double as a potfiller at need. I could also get a regular pullout style, but am rather taken by the option of having both rinse head and regular faucet head on one stem.

I believe any light weight sprayer head is more likely to not reseat correctly(flop over) as opposed to the heavier quality fixtures. As in most things you get what you pay for and with Danze they are a great less expensive line known more for their design or style than their over all built in quality. If you ever held a more expensive sprayer in your hand, such as a Grohe, you would immediately see the heavy built in quality and would see that when recoiled the sprayer will stay right where it is supposed to. My choice would be, if price driven, to find to best price you can on a brand that is more substantial if the stay in factor is important to you. Hope this helps Richard

nrabate, that's the exact same combination I have (ticor square sink w the same faucet!) - I just haven't installed it yet.

Out of the box, it seems fairly flexible, and I hadn't been too concerned about reach. My sink is quite wide also. For a moment you got me nervous, so I had to go take it out of the box, place it on my sink and test it. Looks fine. My existing pullout doesn't reach any further.

vwhippiechick, sorry for a delayed response. My sink is about 31 inches wide and the faucet spout reaches beyond the edge of the sink on either side for a distance of a couple of inches if you stretch it a bit. It seems that you might be able to fill a pot if it is placed adjacent to the sink. My gripe about Danze Parma's limited reach is that unlike other pulldowns (like Grohe) there is no additional pull out section hidden, so the metal tubing encased is in the spring-like material is all that you can manipulate. The spring-like housing is rather rigid and not easily stretched. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
