I would center it if I were you. I have the offset drain Blanco super single and I have no problem with splashing when my faucet isn't over the drain.

On the air switch and soap- which hands do you plan on holding dish vs. scrubbing dish with? Does this arrangement work for your habits? I have air switch on the right and would have had soap on the left but my DH nixed the idea of another hole :(

I hold the sponge with my right & the thing I am washing in my left hand.

While holding the sponge in my right hand, I use the thumb from my right hand to pump soap when I need it (while still holding the sponge in the right hand).

At least that is what I have been doing since March when we moved out of our apartment to begin our gut reno. I have never lived with a soap dispenser before that, but liked them the first time I saw one years ago.

I'll be washing on the "left" side of the sink though, because the 7" ledge is on the right. I am just concerned about soap possibly dripping in the strainer on the ledge or having to move the basket because I need to pump soap, etc.

I don't like the idea of a 4" tall nub on my island next to the faucet, but I think it's better than a soap bottle bouncing around. I have no idea why they are so tall. I am still in soap dispenser hell, as I still haven't decided which to get. Good thing the stone guys still have to come back for more wor, so they'll do that hole then!

I hear the Grohe are crappy but I am afraid the KWC's stainless won't match my Grohe Supersteel finish.

Hi There.

I have your sink with a "Grohe Ladyluxe Chrome Kitchen Faucet". It is centered, with the soap on the left and air switch on the right. I have constant splashing issues. I think it has to do with the height of the faucet. There is 21" from the faucet to the bottom of the sink. And there is NO aeration in the flow which contributes to the splashing. I pull down the sprayer to eliminate some of the splash. It's not ideal. Definitely form over function...it's a cool faucet.

My soap pump is on the left because there isn't room to use the pump with the basket in place (in the sink on the ledge) on the right.

Hopefully the downward bend in the spout of my Minta is just enough to eliminate the splashing. After all, I would have no choice if my sink was the super-single with the offset drain.

You also validated my concern about putting the soap dispenser on the right. It would be in the way of the ledge/strainer, so left it will be and air switch on the right.

Now, if only I could sort out which soap dispenser to go with.

I know you have a chrome faucet... Are you using a Grohe soap dispenser? If so, how long have you had it & do you have any problems or feedback?

No, I don't have the Grohe soap dispenser. I bought the cheapo version at Lowes with the never-empty option for maybe $30. It's been ok. Just so you know, the dispenser is really, really easy to install...so if you don't like it, or it breaks...you'll be okay to replace it yourself.

I did an experiment with my faucet as a result of thinking about my splashing issues. It is most definitely the non-aerated, small diameter flow. If the diameter of the spout was wider, there would be less splash because the flow would be less forceful. Aeration would help too.

I'll be getting the NeverMT too. The cheapo soap dispensers are fine because if the turn out to be disposable it's no big loss. You just replace it. The $100+ ones hurt a little more.

You did help me to snap out of it and just try to match the finish & if it fails then I deal with it then. It won't be the end of the world. I still have so many things to finalize that I really just need to move on.

Perfect timing! We are just starting our kitchen remodel and also plan to use the Blanco cascade sink and I was wondering about the faucet placement.
Sounds like centering is correct from above. Supposedly, you don't want the water going down directly based on my reading.
We are going with the Waterstone PCP faucet (call me a bit crazy but I saw the new model coming out in January and it was awesome). I originally planned on the WS Parcha PCP, but the new model will add a touch of class to the kitchen. The Parcha is 9 inches center to center and the new version is 8 3/4 - just want to make sure it clears the elevated divider.
I am debating on adding filtered water and/or a soap dispenser to the mix. I figure I can heat water quickly on the induction cooktop or in the microwave.
Are people happy with soap dispensers? How easy are they to clean?

Jamrock - what did you decide. I was looking at some blanco cascade brochures and some showed it mounted at the divide. I have a bit of time - so hoping to hear feedback on what you and others decided.

I am sure that the brochures you are looking at are exactly the ones I saw which prompted my question in the first place.

I only saw one, I think, and that tall faucet is not centered and it's placement got me to thinking it was put there so that the water from it would hit the hole in the sink.

I decided to center my faucet. My husband said the hole was drilled but the island was covered securely when I was last at the site, so I left well enough alone and decided not to dig it open to look. I will look at it this week and scream if they messed it up.

I think my faucet has a 8"+ projection, if I am remembering correctly. The ledge is 7" wide, so if rotated to the side my fauce would over-extend the sink...

I wanted the soap dispenser on the right, but with the ledge I feel it's better on the left because I don't want it in the way of the basket.

If my air-switch is still a go, then it will be on the right.

I have no info for you on whether my decisions were good ones or not, but I will be happy to report when I finally get back home and have started using it.

That won't be for at least 5 or 6 weeks though (ouch! nearly 1 year out of my home...), so if you have not gotten to this point by then, feel free to ask my opinion then. Hopefully I will be moved in and using my sink by then.

Our Blanco cascade sink is ordered and just about to order the Waterstone PLP faucet - probably next week. The sink has about an 8-9 inch reach so similar to yours.
Demolition should start late Feb/early March.
