thanks to you both! This is exactly the look I'm hoping for with my rangetop (not a full range). Apparently the drawings Capital provides show that that rangetop has to drop in, with a "lip" of some sort sitting on top of the countertop. However, that drawing contradicts another drawing that shows the SS top of the rangetop perfectly flush with the top of the countertop. When it sits on this lip, it ends up making the place where the countertop edge meets the rangetop's bullsnose look bad and poorly planned. My GC was on the phone with Capital for a LONG time going over it last night. And Capital could only send me two pictures showing full range installations that look similar to coleen's above. It seems this may be a small engineering snafu that Capital needs to work the kinks out of. I'll post what we do for future Capital rangetop planners. This issue has pushed our template date out to next Thursday; I really want to get this right. (Meanwhile, would just love to see a rangetop owner's installation pics!)

Hi, I may be able to answer the wood hood question since we went through the same thing recently. It sounds like he's suggesting a wider hood than range width, which is recommended/common although from what I've learned on this site the same width as the range can also work depending on the blower and how the range is used. If you do decide to stick to a 30" wide hood, have you checked the specific dimensions of the hood insert you are wanting to use? They should be slightly smaller than the actual hood width to allow for them to go up inside of the wood hood. While we are going with a 6inch wider hood than our rangetop, we're going to be using a bluestar rangetop and plan on lots of wok cooking. We did have to go back to our cabinetmaker requesting the wider hood and did have to give up some upper cabinet space to achieve what we wanted. Depending on how your parents use their stove, a 30inch hood could work. I'm not sure about the space needed for a stainless hood- I've seen them both butted right up against cabinets and with space in between. Hopefully someone with more expertise will pipe in on that-

So I ended up just planting it on top of that large tree root. It was getting dark and I didn't want to leave the plant's bare roots out all night I took off one third to almost half of the roots. And I fanned out the roots over the large tree root. The large tree root was only under half of the azaleas roots . Then I tried to disturb the routes on the side of the azaleas roots to encourage it to grow sideways out into the soil . Will this work or is it a death sentence for this plant?
