Hi there! I just found a really neat lady that sculpts dog breeds (and other animals) into drawer pulls, cabinet fnger hooks, hooks for items and one of the breeds she creates is the Brittany Spaniel. Look thru her website (a little confusing but fun to look at). Hope this helps. Take care!!

Donna - don't have any helpful hook info. But after having a VERY CHALLENGING conversation w/my 17 y.o. son this morning, your picture really made me smile and get a bit teary, remembering what a sweet, loving boy he was and how much I hope we both survive this teenage roller coaster. There are glimpses of that child still there, just not nearly as often as his mother would enjoy seeing.

Alice, just remember this too shall pass. I am not looking forward to the teen years and I already get sad when I drop my son off at middle school and he puts on his school face with no kisses or hugs for mom. Luckily at home he is still a big cuddly goofball. With patience and perserverance, I'm sure you son will turn in to a loving young man before you know it.

I have 19 year old son--second year away at college. He is a good kid, but you know, also a teenage boy! -We embarrass him, we are the worst parents, yada, yada, yada

So he goes away to college (mind you only a 45 minute drive away) and all of a sudden, he starts ending our very brief, very few phone conversations with "I love you!" We couldn't even remember the last time we heard that (maybe when he was 10???)--we just about fell over in shock! But we are grateful (but still surprised after 2 years).

So, keep telling yourself you are a great parent and stick to your guns! There is hope!

Donna and kandt - Thanks for the encouragement! Today was a day I needed to be reminded that there is light at the end of the teenage tunnel. He IS a great kid/young man most of the time who I know is well-grounded for the most part, but sometimes......geeeeezz I truly want to wring his neck. For perspective - I remind myself how lucky I am to have the argument at all -- dear friends of ours lost their teenage son this fall in a tragic car accident....it rocked our entire community and the loss continues to echo in all our lives. Although I do want to wring my child's neck on occasion, I also feel blessed every day for the opportunity to do so. Hug 'em all as much as we can!

I'm sorry I missed this post. I'm on mom's dial up so a search is a ummm (ok it's slower than molassas on a frozen arctic day). We're in Seattle to take the little guy to the hospital again.

But, I will tell you my knob (and hook) source...I buy almost everything at Knobgallery.com. I always look in the discount section first (great deals) and then then I move to looking
through each designer's options...but you could narrow the search by entering "hook".

My kitchen knobs are Anne at home. Many (like the big moose antlers) would work great for hooks because the horns stick out so far. I have a pig and a rabbit that do the same.

I also just purchased some great hooks (animal) from restoration hardware for the cat and dog stuff. They're pretty cute.

I'll do a famous search (I love quests LOL) as soon as we get back to alaska...but that's not until Wednesday or so.

I adore that cabinet by the way...I have mudroom envy right now!!! And those darned kids are pretty cute. You know we're trying to have another pretty hard (many many drugs LOL) maybe you could spare one? :oP

IKEA has fun "back half of the dog" hooks. It looks like the front of the dog has disappeared into the wall. Only the middle of the dog, its hind legs, & its tail show. The curving tail is the hook part. They come in multiple colors and are inexpensive.

ccc123, I checked out those ikea hooks and they are adorable! Unfortunately they are made of soft rubber, so I don't thinks the'd be good for holding coats and backpacks. Thanks!

thanks kelleg. I just wound up ordering iron double hooks from rejuvination. I couldn't find anything I loved that was fun too for the cubby lockers. I have seen some whimsical hoks for the wall that I may get from Napa Style. Will post more pics when we are done.
