Natural Maple cabinets-show me your pictures

i'm obsessing again. I have to order cabinets on 1/3 and don't know whether to do

-natural maple

-maple with a light stain (honey or wheat0

-maple with a glaze

(I will have red oak floors and either uba tuba or Santa Cecelia granite (the granite is still undecided) and I'm siding towards black hardware, refrigerator will be paneled, appliances stainless/black)

i know I want to stay light and am siding to the natural, but at a xmas party I asked some opinions on the natural and the feedback I got was that it would look 'un-finished'. I've looked on the finished kitchens forum for all the kitchens with light colored cabinets and found alot that look great.

Help me decide-show me your kitchens with natural maple cabinets.

The kitchen in my old house had natural maple cabinets. Had we stayed there, I would have updated the kitchen but not my cabinets, I loved them. I never thought they looked "unfinished" and maple becomes more golden over time.

I love my natural maple! The cab co calls it "cashmere" but it's natural to me. Mine has a "caramel" glaze. Overview pic:

Marybeth1, Thanks for letting me know. I wonder if I can find an engineered version of Quartersawn White Oak floors with a Nutmeg stain? I really love the look a lot. I wish I did not have a concrete sub-floor. Do you have any close-up pictures? Your hardwood floors are so rich looking and beautiful. Only a few more weeks I hope until I must make a decision and get started on my floors.

I don't have mine in yet, but the flat pack boxes have been opened, and I love my natural maple Shaker doors. I had a 1/4" small inset square of darker walnut in each corner, and the finish is not very shiny. When my daughter gets back from college tomorrow, I'll have her snap a photo of a door and drawer front and maybe she can post it on here.

@rkb21: The piece for the dishwasher is a little different than the rest of the toe kick. Our real toe kick is 3/4" x 4", but at the bottom of the dishwasher the black cover is 3" high, and then it sort of tilts back. I happen to have extra molding from the cabinets that was 3/4" x 3", so I had it cut to fit the width, and they had to bore out the back a little where the plastic screw caps are that hold the cover in place, and then we just velcro'd it to the black cover. You can see the seams where it meets the other toe kick, but it's better than seeing black. It seemed to me that a 4" toe kick might interfere with the function of the door, but I don't know that for sure. So far, we have been very happy with the KUDE48....no issues with the side vent causing condensation on the cabinet. @island: Thank you very much....our countertops are called "waterfall". My Mom's cabs are Antique White and she opted for a high contrast with BM Rusty Nail in a flat Aura finish. There were a few different reasons she went this way: her kitchen doesn't have any architectural details other than the the soffets which are directly against the cabinetry so she decided to play them up she had a very dated white on white kitchen which she wanted to move dramatically away from without breaking the bank she has no natural light in the kitchen This was the old kitchen: This is the new kitchen in progress - 2nd try at countertops is today and there will be a low contrast mosaic backsplash in off whites and beiges so not a lot of paint is going to show and where it does it is directly juxtaposed to a much lighter vertical surface (cabs and backsplash): Photos were taken at night so everything is reading a little darker than they are in real life.

I have black appliances, natural maple and ubatuba in my current kitchen. I do like it, but since we knew we are moving will be doing something different. We also never really finished it off with pulls/knobs since it's an apartment!

Sorry for the mess on the counters...we had company last night! clearly a lived-in kitchen :)

Love my natural maple cabs with ubatuba counters and Brazilian cherry floor. Natural maple really shows the beauty of the wood. One other great thing which I didn't realize till part way through - it's easy add in other natural maple items like trim without having to worry about it matching a glaze. This worked out great for my custom pullouts.

chefkev-I know you posted months ago, but if you happen to read this, I was wondering the color you have on your walls. I am looking for a red to make my natural maple cabinets "pop." I have black counter tops similar to yours and my appliances are stainless. I have SW Blonde in the living/dining area which is open to the kitchen. Others have recommended I use a green, but I am stuck on red for some reason.
