Tub tile-in bead installation work doesn't look right.

Hello,

We purchased a drop-in tub at the suggestion of our GC. He said he'd tile it in to make it look nice. When we got the tub he told us it wasn't the right one (missing integral flange that we need for alcove installation). Getting past the anger point since he told us nothing about this before we went to purchase the tub. We found an expensive $75 piece sold by Kohler for drop-in tubs. Its called the tile-in bead and it is installed around the edging of the tub to prevent water from seeping behind.

After the GC installed it, it didn't look right. I have some photos of the work below - just wondering if anyone can chime in to let me know whether I'm overreacting. The flange is not flush against the tub surface. Further, it was installed right over the protective plastic on the tub. GC says, 1) protective plastic is left on to prevent scratching of tub when he tiles over the cement backerboard 2) don't worry, no way water will get back there once he tiles it in (despite the wavy flange installation.)
