These are by Rusticware and come in 4 finishes -- weathered pewter, iron, satin nickel and ORB. They feel very substantial and are deep enough to get your fingers behind easily. They also come in 3", 4", 5" and 6" lengths. The price was very reasonable. If you're interested, I can let you know where we found the best pricing.

hostagrams: Those might be an OK compromise. Are they fully rounded (i.e. not hollowed out / flattened in back)? How thick are they?

i-chic: The ones we're looking at are around $4.50 each. Around there or lower is best.

I hate to fail so I spent 250 on knobs for myself instead :oP And I will blame that on you my dear! Sorry, but I think you need to tell DH that a knob expert spent a few hours on this task and couldn't get it done...so what does he expect from you? :OP

Amerock 'Kane' in Satin Nickel

I got my pulls at yourhomesupply. My original choice for pulls was around $11 each. When I found the pulls at YHS they were $2.49 and I loved them! DH really loved the price! Maybe if you show DH pulls for less $$ he'll learn to love them!

i-chic: That sounds cool. Are they for DS's room?

ci_lantro: Those are really close to the Zephyr ones. I like them (as does Hubby) but we both prefer the shape of the Amerock ones. Those look like they don't angle in as much, though. Hmm.

bbtondo: cheap is good but Hubby as more criteria than that. The biggest is that he wants to be able to touch them before buying.

If we go with the Zephyr/Kane style, I think I can convince Hubby to get two fun knobs that would coordinate (they're OK pulls but kinda plain). That actually might not be such a bad idea as I really want some fun knobs somewhere. The two knobs would go on the little mini-stack (cab and drawer) that's just to the left of the sink. What do you think?

So I did a bunch of hunting today and found a pull I adore. It's going to be a bit of a job convincing Hubby but maybe do-able. There's one catch: he insists on "touching" any pull before we order and is unwilling to pay for a sample.

I need to figure out a way to find one so that Hubby can touch it. Other than calling all Amerock sellers in our area (I have the list so I can do it), does anyone else have any suggestions? ANyone by any change have a spare one of these they'd be willing to send my way?

Otherwise we'll probably wind up going with the Ambrosia pictured up above. That's OK but these are so much prettier. (Yeah, i-chic they're beyond the stated budget. That'd be the other sticking point.)
