Help Me Find My Drawer Pull (for less)

Y'know, this happened to me last time too. My tastes in cabinet hardware tend towards the ultra-simple. I want the classic-looking one I've seen elsewhere a million times. I have a picture of it in my mind, but can't seem to find it, even though it seems like I see them everywhere when I'm not looking.

Last time, I used Restoration Hardware as a starting point (I often do this, since their designs also tend toward the classic, but they're so darn pricey). Eventually, after looking all over the place, I finally broke down and paid the $10 or whatever per piece at RH to get what I wanted.

Now, I'm in the same boat. Found the *exact* right drawer pull at RH, but it's, again, $10 per. I've been surfing the sites looking for days now and have found many that are similar, but nothing that's the one. It's so darn simple, you'd think it would be on every hardware site. But, no.

So? Can any of you all help me? I'll post the RH link below. I'm looking for this in oil-rubbed bronze (or black would be ok too).

Try looking through the mfgs. on www.ahturf.com

We just got our pulls/knobs thru them and it was the cheapest cost-wise we could find.

Good luck. I know how agonizing it can be!

Check hardware4.com. I just looked through their list earlier looking for a couple of pulls I needed and they were half the price of lowes. I didn't find the one you're looking for but maybe you'll see something that catches your eye.

I love those too! The ones I've been planning without doing my over-obsessive research thing because I'm not at that stage yet are the ones in theanimala's lovely kitchen. Top Knobs Princetonian bar pulls. They are similar, but more round on the top. Sorry I can't figure out how to paste in a site from the new iPad, but they do come up on a Google search. Please let us know what you end up doing because I may copy you!

i prefer the all knob look but i think it is a matter of personal opinion as I think they both look good. the reason i like the all knobs is that you have a lot of cabinets with a lot of interest just in the cabinets themselves (particularly where you have the mullion glass doors). I don't think you need the cup pulls - I find them a little distracting. the knobs seem like a more subtle way to go (if you like subtlety!!).

i-chic: That sounds cool. Are they for DS's room? ci_lantro: Those are really close to the Zephyr ones. I like them (as does Hubby) but we both prefer the shape of the Amerock ones. Those look like they don't angle in as much, though. Hmm. bbtondo: cheap is good but Hubby as more criteria than that. The biggest is that he wants to be able to touch them before buying. If we go with the Zephyr/Kane style, I think I can convince Hubby to get two fun knobs that would coordinate (they're OK pulls but kinda plain). That actually might not be such a bad idea as I really want some fun knobs somewhere. The two knobs would go on the little mini-stack (cab and drawer) that's just to the left of the sink. Good luck. We found that any good quality pulls were at least $10. Anything less felt and looked too thin and, in a word, cheap.

Be careful of black hardware. Many are painted black and may eventually chip.

Have you checked Ikea? I always find interesting handles/pulls there. This one is more rounded then the one you linked to but I didn't check completely. You can't beat the price.

If you use the word "handle" in the search you get a few to look at.

Those are very nice. I like something similar - suitcase pulls. Look at WWW.retailmenot.com. Enter restoration hardware and they may have some coupons that can help with the price.

Here are a couple options from Lee Valley (under their Furniture Handles selection.) Maybe not exactly the same as RH, but very close, and there are several finishes available.

Your pulls look like window sash lifts so I looked in Van Dykes and sure enough there they are for $6.29. (AR-203799)They don't have Polished Nickel though. But maybe if you googled sash lifts you could find them elsewhere. Van Dyke's is a great source for all kinds of weird "old house" kind of stuff. I just ordered polished nickel caps for the bottom of some furniture legs.

i should've thought to look under window hardware rather than cabinet hardware.

edlakin, is your hardware installed yet? What did you end up getting, and are you happy with it? I am interested in the same hardware, except in chrome. I'm so glad for your post!

Are you near a RH Outlet? I am :) and I can pick up cobalt blue glass knobs for $2.49 each instead of $9-10 each :)
