please help me find these kitchen pulls

Hi,

I would like square modern pulls for my kitchen in stainless steel.

You would think this is really easy to find, but actually, I have not located the "right" ones yet.

I saw the Metrik at Ikea, and that is the look I like, but they are aluminum coated to look like stainless, and I would like stainless. Also, they only have 2 sizes, and we will need larger appliance pulls since we are doing panels on the fridge and dishwasher.

I saw the Topex pulls, but they are much "fatter" and chunkier looking in person than on the website, and won't fit in my small kitchen. They will overpower it. Model FH007 is the one if you click the below link:

I saw the Linnea pulls, but was told at my local hardware store they can take 6 weeks to arrive, and are extremely expensive - $17 per pull for the 3 7/8" wide pulls.

I checked Home Depot which only had the square look in aluminum, not stainless.

HELP! Can anyone recommend a quality manufacturer? I would need these in about 2 weeks as that is when the kitchen installers will be back with the doors and drawer fronts. We are happy to pay about $10 per pull for stainless steel.

Please do not suggest the bar pulls where the edge of the handle sticks out b/c I used to have those and they always caught my clothing or apron strings.

I love the look of the square and the fact that there is nothing sticking out to snag my clothing!

Have you tried Top Knobs? They have a nice selection of bar pulls that don't have the end sticking out. This is what I have in my kids bathroom. I think it's what you're looking for, although this one says brushed bronze and mine is definitely chrome colored.

Do you need right angles or can there be a curve?

We bought these on ebay and the price was really good. There's a good depth for fingers under the arch, but the corners still have an angular aspect.

Vendor also sells them in a dark finish.

I'm back on this as I finished painting the table this past weekend. I forgot the camera so I didnt' take new picks. I'm hand waxing a paste wax finish on it. I did one draw to see and it, if I must say so myself, looks amazing. So do think this pull is too busy? More traditional with a modern flair?: This second one is 1/3 the price of the first. Is it because it's made of zinc with a satin nickel finish and the other one is solid brass with satin nickel finish? What does that have to do with quality and does that impact it's durability and cleanability? This will be a well used bakers table... doughy hands and all. Too fru fru? A boring plain one: Two more cause they all look the same to me and I can't understand why some are only $5 or $6 and others close to $20 . I need help with this... Kinda contemporary? k I dont' even know what I posted anymore..

Thanks for your comments! GW is so helpful! Right now, I don't have a picture of the kitchen because they haven't started the demolition on the old one. I could post pix of it in all it's (hideous) if that would be helpful. The kitchen is a galley style in a 1925 house. Below I have posted the materials that I am using including the backsplash, the floor, and the countertop material. The shaker cabinets are the "double stack" style (29" bottom and 11" top to the ceiling with crown moulding). Maries1120, I had narrowed down my pull selection to only those with the straight, tubular style, and that's why I only came up with two choices. A third option was the Pennington pull (see below) which mirrors the appliance handle style, but I was concerned that with the galley kitchen that the thickness of the base screw section would be make those pulls be the main thing your eyes would go to with the double stack. Kelleg69, I hadn't even thought about the fact that the pool I posted initially was a sharp edge! Good point! Mal, thanks for the photos! Like you, I want pulls that are subtle and not attention seeking, but I hadn't considered that it would be OK to mix a curved pool with the KitchenAid Street handles. (I also have a DCS large, straight handled oven.) I really like the Colibri pull that you posted a picture of! I hadn't seen that one! Do you think that the base of the pull is very noticeable? Have you ever seen it in a photo? Initially I had simply decided on the European bar pulls in stainless or a brushed nickel type finish (because they wear a matching Matchey to my appliances), but then started to worry that they might be very overused these days. Also heard that they can hook your clothes all the time. I'm trying to open up my mind to a pull that isn't a straight style, such as the Kentwood that you posted. I still have time, but I'm starting to have all consuming dreams about the kitchen pulls!! Next post shows some photos of the materials I am using. Thanks all for your input!

There is a difference between cabinet molding and crown molding. Cabinet molding goes on top of a cabinet and is usually a solid piece with a 90deg back to attach to the cabinet. A crown molding attaches to the ceiling and is a flat decorative piece of stock cut at angles to fit the ceiling and wall/cabinet top. Difference is ether are also different profiles for each. Go to a dedicated molding store not box store. It will actually be cheaper also.

I am not sure about the photo you sent, but here's a possible alternative. https://www.hardwareresources.com/decorative-hardware/cabinet-knobs-pulls/pulls/558ssmb.html 1.6" + long. When buying hardware, I highly suggest ordering 1 sample to inspect the quality & see on the cabinets 1st, then order the rest in confidence.

Hey, this site is so great thanks to the people on it! Thank you for all the great suggestions - I will start checking the recommended sites.

I really want right angles because the kitchen is modern and I feel it will look the best, but will see what else is out there before making a final decision.

If you happen to check this thread again, the amerock black rock is similar to these, but some tapering. I really like it and am using it on my family room built in.

While you're at the Lee Valley site, ask for a paper catalog. It's so much easier to look at them there. And there are so many, you will go blind looking at them on line.

I love those too! The ones I've been planning without doing my over-obsessive research thing because I'm not at that stage yet are the ones in theanimala's lovely kitchen. Top Knobs Princetonian bar pulls. They are similar, but more round on the top. Sorry I can't figure out how to paste in a site from the new iPad, but they do come up on a Google search. Please let us know what you end up doing because I may copy you!

Oh, I just noticed Sochi's pulls. Very similar to your pic. Search at the bottom of the page for her kitchen or try a Google search for the site.
