Kitchen faucet options with stainless steel sinks??

My kitchen is overall warmer colours (yellow/apricot walls and a gorgeous warm-coloured ceramic floor) - I am doing some work on the kitchen and the feel that I am aiming for is sort of a rustic Provence design (not very authentic due to the fact my house is newer). My main lighting is an oil-rubbed bronze and my new cabinet handles will be the same. Major applicances are black, some minor appliances are stainless steel.

I have stainless steel sinks that don't really need to be changed and I do have limited finances to redecorate etc. However, I am getting a new kitchen faucet as the original one is very plain, outdated and looks pretty awful.

Because the sinks are stainless steel, am I best to go with a silver kitchen faucet and not oil-rubbed bronze? I've seen some photos online of oil-rubbed bronze faucets with stainless steel sinks but I actually think that they just look mismatched. If one goes more of a silver theme, does it matter if one gets faucets that are chrome vs. brushed nickel/stainless steel to go with the stainless steel sinks? I am leaning towards stainless kitchen faucets - seems they might fit in better with a Provence/rustic theme than an overly shiny chrome faucet. Thoughts anyone??

We are finishing up on our new build kitchen and will have all stainless appliances and sink with ORB faucet. I also have warm colors and somewhat of a rustic theme with warm tile floor and stained knotty alder cabinets. I have seen ORB faucets with stainless sinks in person and in my opinion it looks good as long as it coordinates with the rest of the room such as with lighting and knobs ( also what I'm doing)....and its best if the sink is undermount so the faucet is not touching the sink.
Here's a picture of my sink without the faucet; I will try to post again when faucet and lighting is in. I hope that helps :)

Yes. It is done all of the time. But do not mix faucet finishes in the same kitchen if you are having 2 sinks.

I have a stainless single-basin Vigo undermount that measures 32" wide by 19" deep...that will hopefully be installed today (by me). This style of sink doesn't have an island or an insert for the faucet to be mounted, so a 22" deep sink wouldn't work for "standard" installations -- our faucet needs about 3" of clearance behind it for the handle to operate fully. So, from the front of the counter, we have: 2 inches of counter lip (on the skinny side) 19 inches of sink 1 inch (approx.) between sink and faucet hole 2 inches (approx) for faucet body 3 inches (approx) rear clearance for faucet handle We had to make the counters 27" deep to accommodate -- adding another 3 inches of sink would make a 30" deep counter, which wasn't an option in our space.

Just thought I'd update my own thread in case others find it through the search engine to note that I found Kohler Duostrainer comes in white/black/other non-metallic finishes. Found a great deal on wayfair so I'm paying about $44 (with free shipping) for the sink strainer and tailpiece (basket sold separately but these are for toothbrushing sinks in a dental office so no need for the basket). Hooray!

Thank you for this post....I currently have the exact same issue with our stainless steel sink and polished nickel faucet and pot filler. I was concerned the polished nickel would not work with the SS of sink and range. Sounds like it will all be fine. I also have hardware on cabinets that are a very soft gold (top knobs honey bronze) I’m hoping the hardware and faucets aren’t too similar as I would like some contrast.

I have ORB hardware on the cabs and ORB pendants, but a SS sink with SS faucet. So if that's what you want, I can assure you that it works just fine. I think an ORB faucet with SS sink could be fine, too, as could a chrome faucet. It's just a matter of taste. Remember that with an undermount sink, the faucet is surrounded by countertop, not the sink material.

I think I will back up your preference in this case. I don't think it will look good to have a kitchen sink whose material does not match that of the faucet. If you already have a stainless steel sink, I advise you to buy a stainless steel faucet as well. It will help you to maintain the kitchen theme around that area. You will also enjoy the many advantages of stainless steel faucet which you can't find in chrome as highlighted in this article.
