Stainless Steel Sink with Polished Nickel Faucet? Yes or No?

I have chosen a stainless steel sink for our kitchen remodel (Kohler 8 degree undermount sink). I have used Polished Nickel faucets throughout most of the house. I would like to use them for the kitchen as well, but I'm wondering if they will clash with the sink. Will polished nickel clash with stainless?

I had this same concern, and it turned out fine. My stainless steel sink mimics the appliances, while my polished chrome faucet mimics the hardware. Everything seems balanced. Good luck!

Don't think twice about it. Will be beautiful. All the metals blend very well.

I think you could mix stainless with either chrome or nickel (but not both.) I think the sink would match your dw (and all other appliances) well, I base that on our previous kitchen where we had a SS (undermount) sink and all SS appliances and I thought they looked the same. If you were worried about it you could do something textured (like pic #2.) I think the last pic illustrates that you could have a chrome faucet with the stainless sink and it would look fine. That wall mount faucet is even more "vintage" than a bridge and it looks good with SS.

I just put in stainless steel sink with bronze faucets. Houzz.com came up. I narrowed the search to Kitchens and lots of photos came up. Because the faucet is in the countertop and no directly on the sink, it doesn't look bad at all. Check it out and see how you like that look!

Wow Glisson4, Rohl told me to go buy Semichrome!! No free tube here! it was about 2 weeks when my faucet looked like it had a rash! Small little spots all over the spout & the handles looked horrible. I tried to clean them up & nothing was working. I called Rohl & was told to polish it w/ Semichrome. They were willing to send me a new spout because they hadn't ever seen spots like that, but no new handles. I think my maid had sprayed Clorox cleaner on the counter & it got on the spout. So, keep the bleach away! The Semichrome got that off right away, however I really had to work on the handles to get them to look good. So, higher maintenance than most other finishes...but again, it sure it pretty!

I apologize for not gettting back sooner, but I have a few health issues that sideline me totally sometimes. ntt hou - you answered that you have this combination, but you also mentioned that brushed nickel for the faucet and stainless/brushed stainless for the sink make a good combination. I agree with the latter comment, but I am uncertain about the polished nickel with stainless sink - is this what you have? rmkitchen - yes, I agree that it is easy to obsess about things, and I have definitely been doing this. But, since I started with this question, I am going to try to finish with it. My sink will be an undermount 1 and 3/4 size either Blanco, Franke or Mekal. The faucet would be the P&R in polished nickel. I am starting to think that since the sink will be um, then you really won't see the two different colours until you peer into the sink, so maybe it will work out afterall.

Thank you so much for the positive responses. I really want the polished nickel faucets but was running short on sink options. I considered a copper sink for a long time but I am worried about maintenance and my husband doesn't like the Siligranite sinks. Which leaves stainless. I got the 8 degree sink for an amazing price because the rim was bent, which won't show once the sink is installed.

As others have said, it's a non issue. We have a stainless sink, nickel faucet, aged brass cabinet hardware, aluminum ovens and black and brass range with a brushed steel hood. It all looks great together. Polished nickel faucets are the most beautiful, imo.

Thank you for this post....I currently have the exact same issue with our stainless steel sink and polished nickel faucet and pot filler. I was concerned the polished nickel would not work with the SS of sink and range. Sounds like it will all be fine. I also have hardware on cabinets that are a very soft gold (top knobs honey bronze) I’m hoping the hardware and faucets aren’t too similar as I would like some contrast.

Unfortunatley not yet.... start time got pushed back a few months due to lead time increasing for cabinets.......sigh!
